I AM on the DVD.

As far as I know, Knowledge is the only song that I saw that isn't on the DVD.

They didn't play We are the champions on the sunday, If I recall correctly. Although, by the end I was pretty steaming.

I'm gonna watch it to see if I can see ya, where were ya?

Cool I'm totally gonna try and spot you. Shame you're not in that little fans talking section, I'm sure you would have given the rest of them a run for their money!

Maybe they should consider it, I mean, I know how much they love fan interaction.

Annnnd, I know The Matches aren't as huge as Green Day, but there's something that's in the process (slow one that is) to have little get togethers at shows and only let the people that go on the boards into the show with a $20 on door fee, but also there will be a name list...

maybe something like that would work out?

You guys at the bottom of the first page just made my day.

But if Green Day did the whole small clubs and stuff as GREEN DAY...man hell would break lose.

I could only imagine....

they need to do what The Living End did

make up a beer-related band name and play demos of their new songs

You mean only let people that have internet access in? Thats retarded. Internetz is for posh kids

No seriously, i think thats not a good idea, what about the people that dont have the internet?

If you figure they're going to do the same things they did on the AI tour in any future ones, then the performance really lends itself to large arenas and stadiums.

As fun and intimate as a club show can be, sometimes a band is just better on the big stage.

I second that. I've only had the internet a few months and keeping it is not guaranteed. If I didn't have online access and they did that I would be majorly gutted. It's like giving a reward to fans for being rich enough to be online. Oh you're not poor, congratulations here's a prize for you! Nooooo!

Well, what another suggestion is that everyone who wanted to go about the shows....

actually, fuck it. You don't really wanna know other ideas.

And if you're talking about people that DON'T have internet.... have a go at FHT because come on THEY put their shit out over the internet.

Haha thanks Julie. But yeah its kinda unfair that just because someone has the internet they get to be an elitist. I only got a computer and and internet connection last year so I never was really up to date about things. Im pretty sure if i hadve gotten the internet sooner i wouldve found out about a few Green Day shows in Ireland, and definitely woulda been there :/ but yeah the point im trying to make is that its just not fair on people that dont have the internet for the band to do something like that, and to place certain fans higher than others just because they got the net.

Can I just say that GD playing a hugh place like Milton Keynes did not suck! I was there on the Sat (feeling quite smug now, at least I got to see them then :P ) It was so incredible all those people there for GD. I was'nt in the mosh pit but I was kinda near the front, and when I stood on tiptoes I could see the band on stage quite well! It was just such a spectacle and an event. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see GD in a tiny club or some place but I just can't see it happening. Maybe though instead of playing hugh arena's they could do slightly smaller theatres and stuff, that are still bigger than club shows. I would be really happy if they played somwhere like Hammersmith Apollo in England again (though I have to say I quite liked o2 Arena as well when I saw a different band there!) Basically anywhere GD play, I'd be happy!

lol calm down, i was just saying that itd be a stupid idea for just allowing people who are on a message board to get into a show. Thats ridiculous. Lets say if a friend that was on the site said "Hey theyre doing a show, but its forum members only kthx" .... id be seriously disappointed in the band :/

Kryssi does have a point with this. FHT started out as an internet thing. I don't know what they were expecting to come of it, if they knew it would blow up the way it did or what... but I'd imagine if it didn't- there wouldn't be a full album or a tour. 'Cause face it- this whole thing happened thanks to a random MySpace, which turned out to be theirs, that someone posted a link to.

Hey I didn't mean to offend you. It just pisses me off when people who don't have the internet get left out unnecessarily. My annoyance wasn't directed at you :)

That's so cool that you were there! I know it wouldn't suck, but it would suck just a little bit if you were right at the back and could only see the band on those big screens.

the whole thing wasnt down to a random myspace account. the account had been registered on the off chance... then when things worked out.. or an idea took hold.. then some of us got a damn hard poke in the ribs.

I got mine and was all "wtf?" and went to work. well, it was either work or bed. either way it was too early/late for me.

as for complaints about this being elitist because it started on the internet? can these guys ever win? yes, not everybody has access to the internet... but when to comes to using the internet, rather than relying on the press/word of mouth on the street.... the internet is where its at! so many other bands have been using the internet for the last few years.. that this is green day finally catching up with what is going on on the net.

this is not about placing some sections of the fan base above others. this is about using the power of the internet. its a way of spreading the word without using the press directly. its an experiment. and worked.

I did not say that the FHT deal was elitist at all. I said that IF Green Day were to do shows and just let people on the boards in, THAT would be elitist.
