Green Day mini tours?

Wouldn't it be cool if Green Day decided to play a whole bunch of shows around the world in small clubs like Foxboro is doing?

I think it would be amazing. But do you think they would consider it?

Nope. Green Day is a big business, and it simply wouldn't work.

It would be nearly impossible to get tickets because the small venues would sell out too fast.

I know it's not on the same scale at all, but I remember when McFly last year did only small venues instead of arenas. They wanted to get closer to fans....

Maybe it could work with Green Day? Depends. It probably would have worked in 2000 when they weren't as popular as they are now.

Might work if it wasn't publicized as much.

Or it could be just for us at GDC. :P

although that would be amazing, i doubt they would do that.

it's the sad truth and we've got to deal with it.

Truth.

It would be good if they could at least play some slightly smaller venues a la the Nimrod tour though. That could easily be done I would imagine. It would suck to see them somewhere like Milton Keynes where you'd just be watching on a big screen.

yea like if they played at the Tropicana Field or the Ford Ampitheatere(much smaller than Milton Keynes but considered large here), i would be completely heart-broken. After i watch all these videos on youtube of their old shows (1989-1997) it just wouldn't feel right to me.

If they came here I hope they play the same place they did for the AI tour. (I'm talking realistically here, obviously it'd be awesome if they played small places in Chicago like the Riv, HOB, Metro, but its not going to happen.) Because the alternative is the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater and it BLOWS.

I know. lol! That's why I said it's not on the same scale. =]

And Green Day probably aren't as popular now as they were a couple of years back. Tbh I imagined a LOT more people going to the FBHT tours.

A month before AI came out, Green Day played this tiny venue in Dublin and tickets sold out really quick. It was silly of them to play there, because they had played much, much bigger places before.

It's possible that they could do it, but they'd have to do it like they're doing the Foxboro thing. Announce the shows only like a week or so ahead of time, buy the tickets at the venue, etc.

But it would be insane. Even though this side project IS the guys, it's not nearly as huge as they are, and even if they did it this way, there'd be too much demand and too many more fans would be left disappointed.

Though it would be possible, it's not likely. They're just too massive of an act.

You lucky bastard!

It would suck to be at the very back compared to being at the front is what i'm on about.

I wasn't at the front, but I wasn't far behind.

Put it this way, when the flames were lit, my eyebrows were still singed.

Hehe have you tried to spot yourself on the DVD?

Also why the fuck did they cut out so many songs from the DVD. Do they think I'd rather watch them poncing round a museum than playing Knowledge?

It would certainly be great if they played lots of little shows everywhere, but just the sheer cost of taking the show all around the world would prohibit them from doing it.

Just to come here to Australia would cost a lot and the little venues would just not make enough money to cover the expense, even with each and every show packed out. If they sold the tickets an hour before the show like Foxboro, they'd have to turn away thousands and thousands of fans, resulting in pandemonium outside every venue!

Sadly, the good old days can't be brought back. I wish they could though because I'd love nothing more than to see Green Day in a small venue. Oh well. *sigh*

I AM on the DVD.

5:34

As far as I know, Knowledge is the only song that I saw that isn't on the DVD.

They didn't play We are the champions on the sunday, If I recall correctly. Although, by the end I was pretty steaming.
