924Nimrod
Ha ha but why is it annoying?I dunno, maybe it's just because I'm a bitter old Green Day fan with that, "I liked them before it was cool to like them" mentality. Haha. I dunno. Maybe I don't like kids.

Guest TwoDollarMellie
Well my parents assume that just cause I like Green Day, I want to marry Billie. That may be many girls' fantasy, but it isn't mine. Also, my cousin assumes that I absolutely LOVE shopping at Hot Topic (haha no), just cause I like Green Day.I can imagine the worst thing that would happen though, is that if someone asks me,"OMG!! You like Green Day? So does that mean you like the Jonas Brothers too? Cause you know they wear suits and ties too."I would kill that person if he/she said that to my face. Albanian_Idiot
I always get judged by everybody here, because of the large green day shirts, my eye-makeup, my jeans, my style, the music I hear, about everything that I like and has to do with rock, especially Green Day!!!Rock life-style is not that wellcomed here!!!It's a land full of untalented rappers and romantic bitches!!!I mean, when I walk people just turn around and say things like "man, these fucking punks" or "Ewwww, Green Day"First I always fighted about these things, I really got REALLY pissed of and I always got myself in troubles about these motherfuckers who were even stronger than me But now I just don't care anymore and keep walking in my own way!!!And that's why minority is my favourite song. Guest give me novacaine-jos
there are many people that tell me not to listen to green day 'cause it's no longer in fashion...usually i don't pay any attention to them. once a guy has told me that i shouldn't listen to them 'cause they are emo and gay and if i listen to emo bands it means that i'm emo too. after that some guys used to call me emo...wake up green day it's not emo band!!! Silje Kristin
I've been judged since I first started loving Green Day, but I've never given a shit! After the Dookie-era people would be like, "You still like them, their music's old now, you should listen to this new band..." , and I would get the same comments after the American Idiot-era! I don't just like them when they have a new album coming out and they're on top of the charts, I listen to them all year round and they'll always be a part of my life! But once in a while I'll have people coming up to me saying "Wow, I really admire the fact that you still love Green Day so much after all these years!". SixtiesJunkiie
Most the music I listen to (like 80%) is before 2000 -a lot of music between 40's to 90's- but Green Day is a modern band I do like. I just dislike it whenever people think I listen to other music I find repusive : "Good Charlotte", "Yellowcard", "Fall Out Boy", etc.
MrGreenDayUK
Dunno, I just get 'sellout', 'emo', and '5-year-old kid' which are kinda weak.

Psycho Britney
This is really sad, but I'm normally one of those people who get a bit excited and pleased when I see someone wearing a GD t-shirt or hoodie, and am most likely to smile or be like good choice of t-shirt. Sad I know but never mind...
Lizzie.B
I get it all the time! Just coz I'm a Green Day fan people automatically think they can talk to me coz they like one or two of thier songs and then I get into a conversation along these lines! Me:so what you think of thier earlier stuff. person: Earlier stuff? Me: like stuff before American Idiot! Person:There's stuff before American Idiot????? Me:Well Duh! Person: Well I didn't know that! Me:You said you were a fan! P.s sorry for all the smileys!

hardtoconcentrate
Same here Hermione. Anytime I see Green Day fans now I want to go over and tell them about me meeting them. I love it when I pass someone and we're both wearing Green Day shirts, we just give eachother a 'you're cool' look.
Hermione
^Haha, maybe I should start reppin' my Green Day boys and actually buy and and wear a Green Day t-shirt. It would bring joy to all the Green Day fans who pass me in the street!
Nimrod99
I've never gotten any mean comments about liking Green Day. I've been a fan since dookie, and I'm still a fan. I think all the bs about Dookie vs AI is shit. You either like it or you don't. I still wear some of the Green Day shirts I have and I don't mind talking to other people about the band if they ask, whether that person likes the band or not. And Hardtoconcentrate, you can tell me about your experience meeting them... Seems pretty cool to me. lol.

Viva La Junkpile
I don't understand the big deal with being a Green Day fan to these people. They may not have dabbled into their music or the band in general enough to judge whether or not they're a good band-- most have only heard over-played (but just as worthy if you're not the type to go insane from over-exposure to even the greatest songs) radio hits. Green Day are a great band (Whether they agree or not doesn't matter; it doesn't change FACT... you can hate Bowie for a number of reasons, for example, but it doesn't change the fact that he's a great musician). This being said about Green Day goodness in terms of musicianship and people in general... I don't know why SOME PEOPLE assume you like these shitty, watered down bands that got attached to Green Day because the bands are some-what influenced by Green Day, or even SLIGHTLY in the same genre... or because they all wear eyeliner. Why link goodness with cookie-cutter bands? I still don't understand who they can just shove them all in the same heap, when Green Day don't belong there. And you get attacked and insulted for it -__- fuuuun.
Starbug
yanked another from the back...The town I live in isn't very large, so I'm sure people recognize me because I wear GD shirts and have a GD sticker on my car and a tattoo on my ankle (though most people don't know wtf that is other than a flower) But I do get, because of my age, that I'm not 'mature' because I'm so crazy about this band and flew to see them and blah blah blah. You know what? They can suck my big toe. I love 'em, and those 'mature' cream puffs don't know the fun they're missing
