I read in an interview/concert review of Ray Davies, the lead singer of the Kinks, that he may be doing work with Green Day. Does anyone know anything about this?

(Sorry if this has already been discussed. I searched.)

I read that article. In the interview, Ray said he "like" to collaborate with GD, not that they were going to.

Ray performed here in Chicago tonight.

My best friend's dad went to his show... he says Ray talked about something with Green Day, but I really don't know..

Well, he just saying he "hopes" to do an album of collaborations with Green Day and other artists and thats hardly anything to get excited over...just cause he "hopes" he will doesn't mean he will

perhaps the foxboro hot tubs are a result of this, people always say that they have a 60's sound!

I thought that was from their working with Producer Linda Perry?

I read an interview with Ray Davies in a recent Rolling Stone - he sounded kind of miserable, but I don't know anything about him and that might just be his natural state. Anyway, he talked about maybe getting The Kinks back together, but only if there was new music. He also said 'getting shot is easy compared to creating an identity for yourself as a solo artist', so I assume the collaboration thing is about trying to get his solo career going.
