Meh. Why not release this album under the name Green Day :/ you know, get back into the public eye. If I wasnt part of a Green Day forum, I'd know nothing about this.

None of my friends do, if you asked them Green Day died in 2004. I'd have to agree.

After american idiot was released they could've released anything up to a year later and it would've been top of the charts for a whole new wave of kids. Instead they puffed around with The Network [who 99% of the population dont know exists] and now Foxboro Hot Tubs [which again, nobody knows about]

I want someone obviously far more in the know than I am about this

Why on earth Green Day can't put thier own name to things any more.

They couldnt have died in 04, didnt stop touring for AI until Dec 2005. And were visible (at award shows and stuff) until spring 2006.

The Network was done before AI ever came out. They could have released something in 07, but Billie said they wouldnt put out something that is a piece of shit.

Someone knows about FHT because Mother Mary made it to #16 on the modern rock charts. They just dont know that its Green Day.

Why they release it under another name, I have no idea. I guess because maybe they dont think its good enough to be released by Green Day.

I figured maybe this should go here, but I really don't know.

Does anybody think that maybe Green Day should had done what they're doing with Foxboro Hot Tubs(I know, still an unproved rumor), with American Idiot. I mean, it would had allowed them to expand their creative change without all the heat they'd received, and are still receiving. It wouldn't really make a difference to me, but what do you guys think. I mean, I guess the only thing it would had salvaged would be their public image, which I don't think many give a fuck about anyway. Just kinda wondering.

I figure they just don't think it's Green Day. Not that they think it's bad. Just different. Like Blink 182 with Boxcar Racer, only more secretive.

I'm not sure that this EP/album would be so well-received if it was released as a Green Day album. It's really good music for what it is, but in my opinion it doesn't hold up with other proper Green Day releases. They took a lot of heat with Warning because it was so different from everything else they'd done. People thought they were getting soft on us, and I think they learned from that experience. I believe that what they're doing now - and have been since 2003 - is expanding on that musical creativity without the fear of public backlash.

I agree with you caldwell i have to admit though Warning has now become my fave album, i absolutely adore it. I love how the band explore new avenues and instead of just binning/shelving/sticking it in a vault they share what they've been experimenting on with us. It's brave in my opinion, they probably know they could come in for a lot of criticism but do it anyway.

i think the network was mostly crap.

i agree. i wouldn't say its entirely bad, but most of their songs sound like they were written in 10 minutes. it was fine at first, and some songs are still listenable, but overall it just lacks something

After sampling every track, this CD is already starting to sound too "samey" and uninspired. Just a bunch of 2nd rate Green Day songs with 60's garage band bullshit production. I mean it sounds all right I guess, but its not like Green Day hasn’t already done all this before, and better too

the only reason they do alias projects is because the older they get, the more self-conscious they become in what they release in the name of the Green Day legacy. If you ask me? I think Stop Drop and Roll should've been the album released on October 3, 2000.

From Warning on, every album was labored on too much. Nimrod. was their last great punch with those original 1989 batteries that have energized them so well musically. Right now, they need a jumpstart to even finish writing an album. They are old, but they are not entirely out of steam, FHT rocks and is a pretty heartfelt rock album for what it is, but continually making albums that are 100% from the heart is a difficult feat for any musician.

Are you suggesting I hack their myspace, somehow acquire all their music, and upload them?

Are you implying that the only reason they took them down is because I, the greatest of them all, did not go listen to them?
