Stop Drop & Roll release on April 8th

Pieces of Truth is def. my favorite :).

You could be right about the new album coming out in 2009. But we really can't assume ANYTHING, since the band decides to keep everything so tight lipped. Last we all heard, they were supposed to head to the studio in January to begin recording. They could be far along on the new album, they might not have even started on it yet. Either way, I highly doubt Foxboro Hot Tubs had a lot of steering away from work on the new GD album.

Now that they are going to release the foxboro hot tubs album, and taking the release pretty much serious by anouncing they are actually Green Day, we shouldn't expect anything new from them for a while. At least as long as they are going to promote this album and maybe even going to tour.

Maybe we can not assume anything yet, we can assume that they did not make this album, put money in it, just to use it as a nice filler in between the Green Day albums.

It would be really weird if they would come with a new album in a few months, ot this year at all

Well they didn't spend much time on The Network, and American Idiot came out only a few months after The Network's album, so I'm still hopeful for a new album reasonably soon. I see it more as an indication that they ARE ready to come out with some new music, so this is a positive sign of things to come :)

In the meantime I'll enjoy the wonderfulness that is Foxboro Hot Tubs :D

Seriously, I really hope I will be wrong.

But my speculation is just that it might take a while from now.

After all, they never officially anounced they were The Network.

Since they are aiming a bit higher with the Hot Tubs, when it comes to marketing, I think they actually want to spend some time with this first.

I still don't understand you people acting like this isn't a Green Day album. It is Billie and Mike and Tre writing songs and playing them and actually fucking touring. It is Green Day with a different label.

Red Tide = PMS?

I totally thought this is what it was about too. XDD

"Is this passion or...

Or your red tide? "

I mean c'mon...XD

I'm gonna jump on the Pieces of Truth bandwagon, it kicks my ass no matter how much I listen to it...that sudden stop at the end and then the band lurching into the sax solo is like sex.

"Don't mess with the mess-around!"

Nothing NEW,but something to read from " Rolling Stone"

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/inde...cret-new-album/

'Specifically, their inspirations were “red wine and the Troggs,” they say.'

Lol, I fucking knew I could hear this in Sally -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuQS8ujt2VU

Plus, this is pretty interesting -

"Billie Joe Armstrong and Co. say they consider the FHT album, recorded with perennial Green Day sidemen Jason White and Jason Freese, to be “the next Green Day record.”

Sounds to me like that makes it official - AI's follow-up is with us and it's called Stop, Drop and Roll. :)

hang on, exactly where has that quote come from? as far as I know, they have only contacted that guy at mtv and that certainly wasnt in the original story. not that that moron got his facts totally straight.

According to the article, it's from an e-mail to Rolling Stone.

Absolute Punk posted this story

http://absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=312545

"Foxboro Hot Tubs will be shooting a music video for "The Pedestrian" with director Graydon Sheppard."

I have no idea where they got that from. No link to any story, just a link to their myspace.

According to the article, it's from an e-mail to Rolling Stone.

Just to expand on that further, here's another quote from Rolling Stone.

"The project gives Green Day a chance to blow off steam before forging ahead with their next official album."

So i don't think many will actually consider it the follow up.

I can't believe it's the follow-up to AI - it's just a bit of fun - good - but a bit of fun, surely? Mind you, I remember them saying that they really dislike the name "Green Day" - maybe they want the name FHT to stay.......? Hmmmmm

a music video for Pedestrian? It's not even their best song. I'd rather have SD&R or Mother Mary or Sally

ahaha thanks Beth! now these lyrics can make more sense

might be worth keeping an eye on his website then. here

and yeah, I was thinking stop, drop or something like that.

thats more believable! its beginning to bug me people saying that they are changing their name and what not. they dont have any reason to.

I could imagine Pedestrian being something comical like Walking Contradiction

but still, I'd rather have Stop Drop or Mother Mary. I can invision a swaying, drunken romantic dance kind of theme haha
