I wouldn't get excited over something like that tbh... It's just not worth it.

I wasn't excited as in desperately hoping it was Green Day, I just meant excited about the possibility that it was. That, and looking for clues and people getting pissed off about the clock.

Its just sentimental value at this point as well as a twinge of fangirlness

I'm still their sick fan. I listen their music every day. It is kinda anoying they haven't released new material yet, but it will be worth of waiting when it comes out. I believe their new album will air somewhere in autumn this year. :)

What he said.

Except for the grammatical errors.

I'm still really fucking obsessive, and I'm trying to be as patient as I possible can.

I indulge myself into the decadence of all of the albums in the mean time.

They're like chocolate. drool.gif

I'm listening to Whatsername right now.

Never got sick of them, never will.

FUCKING SELL OUTS!!

Right now, idk, I still quite like them and all but I think the excitement of having new material and stuff has well worn off, and I'm starting to get bored with everything now. But I'm pretty sure I still call them 1 of my favourite bands.

Personally, I'm just as into Green Day as I was when I first got into them. If not, more so. I think all the charities they've contributed to does prove the fact that they aren't nothing but talk. Nothing but complaints. They're willing to step up and actually back what they say and do something. I respect that about them, quite alot.

I agree that the lack of updates and all that is pretty much a major suck-fest, but I'm just going to deal with it. The more quiet they're staying- the more anxious and excited I'm getting for the new album. Or even any news. I completely understand where the fact that they're being quiet is irritating though. It WOULD be nice to hear at least something, but if they want to keep quiet- well, there isn't anything we can do about it.

They still seem like amazing guys, and they're incredibly talented, so my interest in the band hasn't diminished in the slightest. So long as they don't turn into uptight assholes, they're going to continue to garner my respect. And I mean, who knows their reasons for keeping so tight-lipped? Maybe they have good reason. Then again, maybe they don't. We might never find out, really. But it could just be that after the mega-success they had with American Idiot, they would prefer to stay quiet until the next album. Recuperate. Just live their life as normally as is possible for being as famous as they are. I could be totally wrong, but as I already said- they'll have my respect until they prove that they no longer deserve it, and that has yet to happen for me.

I don't totally care when a new album comes out. No hurries there.

And I don't really care about any updates. I never check them anyway.

Ehh....

i'm in the transition where i no longer listen to them, want to take down all the posters and crap but then i still realise how much they did for me emotionally and musically. They lead me to where i am, but i'm not really into THEM per se so much anymore.

I'm too lazy to take down my remaining posters  which is like 3 maybe 4 but they're on my ceiling so yeah.

I still love them, and the network, and FHT, actually my faith in them was revived by FHT, but I really want to know about the new album

I'm definitely not as obsessive as when AI came out, but I still love them and they are still my favourite band.

I agree with the fact that there are never any updates to even keep fans interested, and I know it's good and all, but I'm not into the whole "Green Day loves the world and wants to save it" stuff. I wish they'd just get back to making amazing music, and not giving a crap about anything. :/

I occasionally listen to them, if it randomly comes on my iPod or something, but right now I'm into other bands and listening to them instead.

I agree with that! :)

And well some uptades would be nice indeed. As far as the album is concerned, I prefer to wait and have a great album rather than having a shitty album in 3 months.

haha. Same here.

I mean, sure, I want a new album as much as anyone, but they can take really as long as they want (within a reasonable amount of time). And I really don't care about updates. I mean it's like "Oh, we're in the studio!" and I really couldn't care less. I guess I just kind of expect them to be recording, and if they aren't, that's fine too. I still like Green Day, probably not as much as I did a few years ago, but once the new album comes out, all most likely be obsessed again.

I agree, I mean when a band says "We've started recording" you're like cool, but you can't really see (hear) what they're recording. I want a new akbum and I know they will make it worth the wait. The thing is are they gonna record something new with the classic GD sound or is FHT coming to play some part in the new album?

which would you prefer... production line music that would basically kill the joy in it for the band.... or something the band actually believe in?

sorry but I`d rather them put out a record when they actually feel happy about doing it, releasing it, promoting and touring the damned thing for months on end than them put something out that they hate.

this is their wagon train... its up to fans if they are willing to hang around and wait to see what is coming next or not.

You don't have to get so defensive. I still love Green Day as much or more as the first time I heard them. I do appreciate that they need to take time to create a CD that is worthy of them. I guess saying I was "annoyed" was a poor choice of words. It's more like I'm anxious to hear new material, and to see them more. I can't wait for that day. I will never lose interest in Green Day. They are my favorite band of all time, and they always will be.

I love them to death and still consider them my favorite band, in fact I just got through listening to Kerplunk. At the same time though, I'm not nearly as obsessed as I was a little over a year ago, and lately I haven't even been excited about news (such as Foxboro Hot Tubs, I like the music and think it's cool, but I didn't flip like I would have had the band appeared a year ago). Other bands have also taken up a lot of my time and attention too.

And I definitely know what you're talking about Andres, with the whole not seeming to care about the fans at all anymore from their lack of updates. It saddens me. Maybe I'm spoiled by a lot of other bands I love who constantly put out updates and such through sites like myspace, but it kind of irks me that Billie did an entire interview and photoshoot with Rolling Stone, but didn't have any time to answer the GDA Q&A's. Almost like they're above giving things for free... :/ These thoughts kinda scare me, tbh. I really don't want to lose respect for them because once that's gone its going to be hard for me to ever enjoy the music anymore. Green Day saved my life 3 years ago. I don't want to lose the feeling they used to give me forever.

I am still just as interested in Green Day as I always was, and I believe that this very quiet time is actually good. The American Idiot time was huge and I personally think it maybe got a bit out of hand when every imaginable merchandise item had a heart hand grenade on it. I'm not so sure I really liked that too much. So I think this quiet time clears the decks a bit.

The AI era is over and now we are ready for something new. When it comes, it will come. Yes, I am looking forward to the new album being released, I want it soon, but I can wait without losing interest in Green Day.

I still go back to the Dookie or Nimrod of Warning days and enjoy listening to their music as much as ever. We are lucky that they have put out such a great body of music over the years that we can enjoy as much today as we did back then. Watching old shows too gives me a buzz.

So, my feelings about Green Day are that they are just as great as they ever were, I am completely fine with this long quiet period, but I really look forward to their new album with plenty of enthusiasm. :)

Every time Green Day comes on on shuffle, I switch to the next song and that along with my thought yesterday about taking down my entire Green Day poster wall (even though I have nothing to replace it with) shows that I have lost interest. I'm not sure a new album could bring back all the enthusiasm I had for them once either.

I suppose thats life though... tastes change, things fade... I agree though, they could have done more to keep us all interested. I guess now that they are huge they can rely on there being a whole lot of new fans with their new album...whenever that might be - Even a few updates on that might have been nice. Oh well..
