The Saint Jimmy
I'm still trying to figure out some of the deeper points of American Idiot, that album is mysterious. So my itunes playlist says that I've listened to "Letterbomb" and "Homecoming" about 150 times And I also enjoy listening to the album Nimrod, the music is cool. So I'm in the space that's in between obsessed and enjoying.

sharon mitchell
Oh no....there's troubleSussed her out very quickly, didn't you, Nick?I owe this band a deep debt of gratitude. Through them I have met some of the nicest people on this earth (three of them are pictured ^^ above) and that alone is good enough reason to stay obsessed with them for a long time to come. Thanks, guys! XXX
OliDayyy
I still love them too, i've been waiting for them for 3 years now, and i won't stop it, because they are the only band which gives me so much feelings i've never had before for any other band.I think a lot a people here are just so sick of waiting, and i can really understand that, the lack of updates and so, but maybe when they will come back you will like their music again.I still listen to their music every day, or a least once a week, while i listen to a lot of other bands; however any other bands have the same impact as GD to me, when i don't listen to GD's music for so long, and i listen to this again it makes me so happy and i'm like "Oh i love this band so much", and we're lucky that they have a lot of songs. Some days i'm in my Dookie period, and others Warning Period and so and so with every records...I was so happy when we had some new songs (foxboro hot tubs), i like the fact that they dare to try new sounds, that's also why i love them. They seem doesn't care about what are the expectations of the fans or everyone, they really want to make the music THEY like. But i've to say that even if i can understand that they want to take their time, this installs much more pressure concerning the next record, why don't they just make music, release a record, without looking for being the more honest possible, i mean, the Beatles released new songs and record every 6 months (according to my mother who told me that yesterday), why do we have to wait for so long time, as it would be going to be the perfect record? As i like all their records, i'm not really afraid of being disappointed by their new material (but who knows?...)And concerning the fact that they don't post anything about what's happening on the internet, they're just like that, there are bands who like post things, and others don't, and that's it. However, when i see BJ posting things about the environment and so, it would be great to take 5 other minutes and post a little thing for the fans...I only hope that their new record will be released this year, i really want to finally see them, and i miss them. clusterbomb
I dont feel like they owe me anything. They are massive now. Thats a fact. They cant help that. They cant operate the way they used to. AI may have been released in late 2004 but the hoopla from that didnt end until really spring of 06. If I toured like they did for 2 yrs, hit and played almost every award show for two years, and numerous other interviews and special events, and led that hectic life style I wouldnt be worth shit for awhile. So figure they take a year off puts them into sping 07. I cant really complain that they havent released anything yet. As they said, they need time to figure out what the hell had just happened to them, and to experience life so they have something to write about. I dont think they will release something that is just another piece of crap. So I imagine whatever it is and whenever it comes, will be worth the wait.beth knows what she is talking about they don't owe anyone anything. saurus
yea it was me,since it is my screen name i thought it would be fun to start referring to all the really cool GD fans as trufans it was never meant to judge or decide who was a real fan and who wasn't and i apologize if i made people angry with my statementbye trufans That is the biggest contradiction I have seen in a while. sc0tty81
I still love GD and the music, The old songs still send the shiver down my spine and take me back to my youth..to be fair, forgive me if its been said already, those guys toured for 2 years after american idiot came out and they have families.. they deserve a break Look at the gap between Warning and American idiot, we had a greatest hits and a compilation of B-sides that a lot of people had on their singles collection, there was also the Network..but.. 4 years with a handful of new songs, if there was ever a time to get fed up..surely that was it? Believe me.. those of you that are a bit bored, the next album will be worth the wait
Moxy Crimefighter
Yes and No.Yes I am annoyed and and irritated because they haven't. well I guess they haven't kept as much in touch as they could have. But you nebver know something MAY have happned in their personal lives that (I'm not defending them Just keeping the options open, because when something big happens in your life you tend to accidently forget about most other things) they might be trying to sort out. Example we remeber the Rolling Stone thing that said Mike was Married to Britney. But even then, it would've been nice to, I dunno say something and not keep us in the dark.No.Mainly because if anything I've lept from being obsessed to stalker since AI. and yeah. I mean it's their lives not ours, they only really know us as fans but...shit that came out wrongly.but....can anybody undertsand what the hell I'm trying to say? clusterbomb
they are people, they have lives and their kids are growing up and i think that they want to make sure their kids grow up the right way and aren't thinking ''oh my dad is an ass, he was never there for me, he was too interested in his job than to think about me''. And i doubt they want to be responsible for bringing some stupid fucked up kids into the world as im pretty sure they're against those kinds of people.if you're pissed off with them then fuck off and find a new band to keep you happy. then you wont feel like your waiting for a new green day album, you will just hear it on the radio one day when its out and think oh yeah, i might go buy it or whatever. NME, in its new issue, has a small article on Green Day. It says producer Linda Perry has worked on some tracks for Green Day and "has been making the band listen to the 'Nuggets' box sets -- an influential series of compilations of 60s US garage rock and psych bands. Stranger still, she made Armstrong grow his hair, which could explain the Foxboro Hot Tubs mystery." Hmmm, I won't say a thing about the hair comment.
