Bastard
I don't mind waiting for the new album. They should take all the time they need. There's a million other bands I can listen to while waiting. And I don't care much that we never hear from them, that's not really something I expect from a band. bat-chen
I put them in the side lately (I don't know if that the right words...) . I just more know in other bands but I listen to them sometimes and I didn't stop loving them. also, I can't wait for the new album and I have a good feeling about it
sharon mitchell
I just figure that they've never let me down in the past, I can't see why I should be disappointed with whatever they are going to come up with next. I trust them to come up with the goods
mistress
Having to wait years for another CD doesn't bother me, but no communication from them does...If they want to keep things hush hush, that's no big deal, but not even giving a lousy 10 questionQ&A every few months really sux. I mean really....the last one was Nov 2006! How much time could that POSSIBLY take out of their busy schedule???Of course, I'm still a fan of their music, and I always will be.I just wish they'd show their fans that they give a shit about them...but who knows, maybe they dont. Ingrid
So I ask: If Green Day has helped and inspired so many people in so many different ways, what then, do they actually owe to anyone? If anything, I'd say that we, as fans, owe them our support now that they're being quiet, instead of bitching about it.Exactly.
Beathe.
I don't like them so much anymore. I still listen to them, but that's mostley 1039. I'm looking forward to the next album, I'm getting sick of waiting though. I hope it doesn't sound like shit.
Samantha
They're good guys. And they make quality music for constantly using power chords. I'll be the first to admit, it's hard to be incredibly into them when so little is heard about all the happenings and etc. I think the long wait and time off is very well deserved. Sure, I'd like to have the album out as fast as possible. But when you think about it quick albums usually don't go over very well (unless you're Britney Spears who can release an album a few months after getting out of rehab thanks to all the vocal editing and other people writing her songs). They toured ALOT last time around. They were doing at least twice as much of PR and interviews/guest appearances. 2004-2006 was a very busy busy time, and I think it's only fair they have some time to hunker down with their families and bask in their excellence. Plus, the more time they take to plan things out and get it all sorted, the bigger the likelyhood the album will be top quality. The last thing they need is all their fans rushing them to get through with it all. I think it would be amazing if this album topped American Idiot. There really haven't been very many recent hit albums who's follow - ups have been even better. If anything, I'm excited to hear what they come up with genre wise. So, I'm not at all upset about the wait time for the record. My posters are still up. I still wear my hoodies and stuff. And I still play their songs on guitar with my friends when I get bored. Green Day are legends. The only disappointing thing is that they seem to be more interested in politics than music at the moment. Which is fine. Whatevs. I couldn't care less if they were obsessed with oragami or something. All that matters for me is that sometime soon I get my paws on some new tunes. My iPod had threatened to shoot me if I play Nice Guys Finish Last one more time. You fuckin rawk
Trina
Green Day were the first band that really made an impact in my life...As soon as I first heard them I was blown away and everytime I listen to them I still get blown away. I listen to Green Day every day...even if I don't really have time to, I'll make the time to listen to a couple of songs because they really mean alot to me. Theyre my favourite band and have been for a good few years now.I always thought they were kind and did alot for us fans and stuff...I know the lack of updates pisses people off...It sure as hell does for me anyways and the whole Idiot Club thing made me pretty mad too (Only folks who can fork out 20dollars or whatever get the exclusives) But somehow I always said to myself it isnt their fault...I still stand by that but sometimes I'm not sure whyI don't think I will ever get sick of or mad at the Green Day lads when a band is this huge you kinda have to expect things like this to happen unfortunatly.I will never lose an ounce of respect or admiration for themI mean in the end theyre a band, they write songs and play music...Maybe if some people look deeper they'll realise that theyve got alot more from their music than they would from an update or whatever...Ive always thought to myself "Wow look at what an impact Green Day have made on all these peoples lives" and I think theyre one of the few bands who can actually achieve that but sometimes I wish that we were let into Green Day a little more seeing as Green Day fans seem to be the most dedicated fans from what I can see ...God this thread has made me upset to be honest
Fuzz
SO what? quit complaining bc Green Day doesn't owe any of us shit! I love hearing about what recent charities they're supporting as oppose to album news tbh. You'd rather hear that than album news? That seems kinda ... retarded.blah blah blah yea you guys have moved on,but your still on a GREEN DAY forum site,if your completely done then get out,and let us trufans enjoy our herosThis forum has never been just for Green Day fans. Obviously thats the main things that gets everyone together here, but thats not all this forum is about. I don't know how people can say "just leave this place if you're not happy with them", considering I fall into the group that isn't happy with them and this is my place. jadedghiacand
this new album suspense is just plain anoying, i think GD hav had long enough of a rest and should get back 2 what they know best and stop wasting energy on Foxboro Hot Tubs.*nods head*
Michelle7107
I can't believe some of you guys get so pissed over not getting little Q&A's and stuff. Just do what I do, and don't expect anything from them. If they say they're giving us an update in two days, expect to wait a month. That way when we fianlly do get news, it'll be a nice surprise rather than a 'IT'S ABOUT FUCKING TIME' sort of thing.

farley drexel hatcher
I've been thinking about this a lot actually and I think that if they updated every few weeks with the same thing, about being in the studio and not really being anywhere near finishing an album, we'd all get a bit fed up and the wait would seem longer. I suppose they can't update us on things if there isn't much really to update. Who knows, maybe they'll start getting more involved once they're closer to the album actually being finished. I know last year the IC were promised 'exclusive in the studio videos of the new album being recorded', so it's not as if they don't have some sort of plans, or didn't, anyhow. catskill94
I don't like them anymore, my taste has changed completely.I stuck with them for 11 years, so if that means anything, so be it.But, if a new album came out, it wouldn't be enough for me to like them, if anything, it would be going in a direction that would make me dislike them even more, who knows, but that's what I'm guessing.I've taken the complete collection off of my itunes, hahaI mean, every once in awhile, throw me longview, or hitchin' a ride or something, and sure, i'll rock out,but it's nothing I can listen to on a constant basis anymore. Queen of Dookie
I'm not obsessed anymore, but I still like them. I won't go and play Green Day CD's all the way through, but if their song comes on the radio or whatever, then thats awesome. I'm kinda dissapointed from the lack of updates and all the broken promises, but aslong as we get some new music in the end, then sure. Maybe they're just working on their album almost 24/7 now, so they're really busy... but a nice message on their site would be nice. At first I was really hyped about The Foxboro Hot Tubs since we were finally hearing SOMETHING from Green Day again, but now It's kind of annoying that the last time we really heard from them was ages ago. All of us have no fucking clue to what's going on with Green Day, so I don't know... mkay.
