*withoutadoubt*
Haha - I'm in my kitchen, cooking, listening to the radio - 92.3 K-Rock, and they asked for requests, so I called and requested the FHT, talked to the DJ for about 10 minutes (best accent evaaaaa!!!), he told me he'd play some soon, and then asked me to request anything 'Foo Fighters' :/ So, I guess I'm gonna be on the radio sounding like a total dork. EDIT: So weird to hear yourself on the radio! - he asked me what I was doing today, so I told him I was cooking. He asked if I was cooking a roast, so I said, 'Nope, this is New Yawk, I cook Italian food.' OMG, total, idiot.

I asked for Highway 1 or Mother Mary or anything FHT. He said he would try to play something by them, but I've been listening all afternoon, and he didn't. DJs have changed now, too. He played the Foos block tho.

I'm a geek like that.

I wish it would get more airplay - it's such a great song. Maybe it's on its way up. Wouldn't it be funny if one of the songs got some type of award nom next year? And to have a physical cd of Stop Drop and Roll Ok, it's just a rumor, but a rumor from someone good. Maybe this deserves its own thread.

**nobodylikesyou**
Sarcasm, right. Not for me. I can't listen to one of their songs in full nowadays.no, my comment about them being unknown was sarcasm. oh never mind. pffft. ***********************************************************************************************************************and for anyone that cares. this article came out the other day.Article published Jan 25, 2008Web-only music generates success storyBy Mik DavisAmerican CorrespondentThe year 2007 saw the music industry making its first real strides toward digital downloading. While everyone with a computer now listens to music from one, people continue to purchase CDs.Outside of the record store-Amazon loop, there is a lot of Web-only music to be found.Years ago, bands started giving away their wares on sites like MP3.com. This culminated with frenzy of legal downloads that followed the release of "In_Rainbows" from Radiohead last year.So far in 2008, the very best way to generate interest in your music is-to give it away.Imagine the surprise of a web-only release debuting in the national Alternative chart.Well, it happened. The party responsible for this latest breakthrough remains cloaked in mystery. The Foxboro Hot Tubs sounds like a utterly ridiculous band from the mid-60s who toiled away in their garage only to have their 45 just miss inclusion on one of the indispensable Nuggets boxes. One quick glance of their album cover reveals so much more than another heartfelt tribute ("That Thing You Do") or ace send-up (the masterful fake album art of Dewey Cox records in "Walk Hard".) Boasting "6 Hits" and looking like a swinging single that would grace the turntable in some low-budget American International flick, this power trio are too consistently hooky to be from the days of the Chocolate Watchband.Static announces the band and a party beat that will send you into the swim, the boogaloo and the other 998 dances of this lost land follow. The groove is intense, almost in a punky way. Try as they might, even the simple solo rings a little too familiar. The Hot Tubs harmonies are perfect, and the "Last Nite" sway of "Mother Mary" (their surprise Top 30 hit) quickly allows you to crack the code. That adenoidal voice and the wild quaver could really only be one singer that I know. But, then again, I am a bit of an American Idiot. It is strange to hear a band in this day and age of spiky punky rock and grinding drop-D bashing try so hard to be so sweet, but The Foxboro Hot Tubs succeed."Red Tide" is their surfy showcase. Sailing on a surly, sliding riff and buoyed by a reverb-drenched tambourine-one might find it hard to believe that this band is from a time gone by. Still, as sweetly psychedelic as it is, Hot Tubs, it sounds like you are having the Time of Your Life. The garage ethic quickly is dispelled upon hearing the punky/glam slam of "She's Not a Saint, She's a Celebrity" (a title that David Bowie is probably kicking himself for not inventing). The handclaps and the high harmonies almost convinced me to abandon theory until the word "center stage" left the singer's mouth. I am a bit of a Basket Case for anything that sounds like Ziggy Stardust fronting the Sex Pistols.Like any well-worn EP, the Foxboro Hot Tubs save the best for last. The rumbling "Highway 1" charges even farther ahead into the 70's and the 80's thanks to the singer's quote of The Replacements "Dose of Thunder" over a funny farfisa organ. After the second listen, I had to wander outside and get a taste of some of this Gre…ahem Grey Day.After returning to the computer, I decided that I was sold.Sold on an EP, that you can get for free at www.foxborohottubs.com

It's a rumor but it's from a very reliable source: Howie Klein posted it on his music blog, and he's the former president of Reprise, Green Day's record label.I think the thread got closed because it got confused with another thread someone made which had the same news but was quoting an unknown and unreliable source. I'm glad it got reopened. I thought it was prety interesting too that he basically says on his blog that the FHT are Green Day - just from the video alone that he posted.
