**nobodylikesyou**
^either way that was a silly word to use. AI was pretty mature.
Femme Gauche
True, it just seems that it's generally used to indicate progression as artists. Though I can see how it seems to imply that everything else was immature.I would say that considering content (simultaneously personal and political, micro and macro, simple and complex...) American Idiot is a pretty mature album.
netty
for all the info in new articles about the bands direction... I doubt any of them actually know what they are doing right now, or where they are going with the album. they might get snippets of info and then pass that on as the absolute gospel. but I really dont think that they will get anything about what the band are up to now album wise just yet. even if they do.. its all down to personal interpretation. what one person thinks is new and great music.... somebody else will come along and yearn for a repeat of a previous album sound. Femme Gauche
Yeah. Although I don't quite understand why people always whine and beg for the return of old albums... I mean, it's a good artist's prerogative to grow and change and experiment. *shrug* But that's just me.
netty
I`d rather see any band moving on and growing rather than clinging to the past/past sounds. to me all it means when bands stick to sounds/styles that worked before.... is that they just arent creative any more or they are just in it for the money. a lot of people accuse green day of just being in it for the money... if they were, they would have never come out with warning. they wouldnt have left the old style green day behind. they would have stuck with dookie or whatever. Femme Gauche
Yeah, exactly. Actually someone the other day, impressed by FHT's sound, asked me why Green Day didn't do stuff like that on their own records, and basically said that it was Green Day's responsibility to do absolutely everything they could do and put the most different stuff out as singles alll the time. And I'm just like, piss off, that's not how it works. But yeah you find it funny that the band is labeled sell outs for changing their sound, when to me it's more of a sell out just to keep with the same thing all the time, just for the money. Mommy's Little Nightmare
Well, last I looked, the Asian thing was gone, and I couldn't figure out a theme to it. It seemed to be just random this time....unless they've changed it again since then.

I was listening to 1039/SOSH this afternoon and I realized how much I love it, and I thought about how much they've changed since then, and how I still love everything they've done. And I don't think it's a case of shit looking like gold. I think it's a case of gold, its value always getting greater.Very exciting time to be a GD fan. Oh yes. Those who have stuck with the band are here and now rewarded with excitement. And I noticed a pattern of asian-skull-asian-skull... don't know if it's changed since then, though XD. Vanessa
How many times are they gonna change their top friends today? Now it's people with (all alchoholic, I think) beverages in every picture, except the Lushotology myspace is smacked in there with them.Edit: It seems that the Lushotology myspace quite likes FHT... what a coincidence, eh?
