The Doctor
Yeah, it has been mentioned. I don't really think anybody still doubts it, though.has antistarstupidkid changed his mind then?
M1KEY
I completely forgot about this... and sorry if it's been mentioned, but check out the similarity between the main riff in The Network's "Right Hand-A-Rama" and the opening riff in Foxboro's "She's A Saint..." M1KEY
Foxboro hot tubs.Another money spinner. What happened to punk?Yeah, I love all the money I make when I release songs for free download on the internet. Don't you guys? Wow I'm fucking loaded, but I need more cash so I'm going to offer more free shit for people. That'll make me even richer! I'm so fucking brilliant! And by the way, Billie Joe has always been of the opinion that punk is doing whatever the hell you want to do and not doing what other people tell you to do or expect of you. So these side projects are kinda punky in that respect. It's also very "punk" of you to try and dictate what punk is or should be. You clearly have a handle on the concept. M1KEY
I have a question...Why do so many people think that these songs or the songs by The Network are songs that didn't make Green Day's albums? This is not where side projects come from people! I highly doubt that Bille wrote (at least) 6 songs in a 60's garage pop style while writing the American Idiot follow-up and thought, "hmm, these won't fit on our next record so I'll come up with a weird new band name and slap an EP together and release it". The Network was a planned side step, probably to quench their creative thirsts. I think they probably made up the story about the Cigarettes and Valentines master tapes being stolen to give a reason for the 4 year gap between Warning and American Idiot, when really they were doing a side project. And I think the same thing is happening now. We're having to wait 4 years again for a new Green Day masterpiece, and in the meantime, a new side project was born. For 2 years their lives revolved around Green Day and American Idiot. Wouldn't you want to do something different and play with new styles? I would.
cocopot
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this or not...But when I was listening to "Highway 1", it suddenly struck me that when "who ever it may be" *tre* says "1,2, a 1,2,3,4....you're doing it fucking wrong..", it sounded just like when Tre says "you're doing it fucking wrong" at the end of his Chocolate Rain piss take. Coincidence? I think not. Then again I have no clue why I'm trying to prove this, considering that almost everyone has agreed that it does include the guys in FHT EDIT: yes tons of people have already this. Ignore me.

DeJennsitized
Maybe Foxboro Hot Tubs isn't GreenDay.But Vocals is Billie Joe , Right ?We know Billie's in the band at least, but some people think they can tell it's Mike and Tre by the drums and backing vocals. I'm not too sure, but I'd like to think they're all in the band.

DeJennsitized
I think it sounds like Tré's drumming style, but I don't know about the bassI'm not saying the people thinking that are idiots or anything like that, it's just I don't play drums and don't know how to differentiate between different drumming techniques. As for backing vocals, I guess if you're thinking about Mike when you're listening to the songs, you can kinda sense it's him.
FilmAdaptation
Don't listen to the bass for trying to pick out Mike, listen to the backing vocals. He can hit a ton of notes to go along perfectly with Billie (think: Dearly Beloved).

Could someone kindly sum up the 52 pages worth of posts so I don't have to read through it all? A new band surfaced on myspace and with a new website a couple of days ago called Foxboro Hot Tubs. They are a 60's style garage pop rock band with vocals that can only be Billie Joe's. We assume this is a new side project like the Network back in 2003. You can download their 6 track EP at www.foxborohottubs.comHope that summed it up for you.

FilmAdaptation
If they were trying to keep their The Network identity very "secret" back then, they obviously failed. They had pictures, official release documents, and were released on Adeline. Not too hard to piece together. Now, if they are actually trying to keep this one "secret," they fixed all the leaks that happened with The Network. No pictures, no official release documents because they put it online. I highly doubt they're putting that much though into the whole thing though.

They made a huge deal over the Network, photo's, fake press conference, all very funny, this on the other hand has just been very quiet and given to us out of nowhere, no fanfare, no song and dance, they let the music do the talking and fuck me talked it has......the bitch won't shut up
