Claiming that bands in the underground aren't good enough to 'make it' is at least equally, if not more ignorant than claiming most major label bands are corporate whores/sellouts/whatever. In any case it entirely missed my point which is that there are more good bands in the underground scene that are good than there are signed to a major. There is an indisputable correlation between bands signing to big labels and changing their musical style to conform with what will most likely sell records. It's not an issue in the underground scene, and on some levels that integrity is more important to me than musical output, which is you hunt around for the right bands remains stunning, and largely excels the output by larger bands.

i can name plenty of major label bands who haven't conformed to a popular style to sell records.

i can name more shitty underground bands who are just as bad as the so called "sell outs."

i still don't see what that has to do with this thread as you just seemed to stick that in there, but i felt the need to call it out.

No stupid, Green Day connections like the audio engineer and such. Not fans.

Those people don't go on GDA? GDA is about the biggest Green Day news source there is.

Actually, I'm at 51/49 right now. I just thought I'd give my opinion support. That's the thing, when you form an opinion, you need to be objective. But when you decide which side to take, you need to argue that side to death.

Refusing to change your mind in the face of contradictory evidence shows only stubbornness--not intelligence. :)

IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THIS BAND IS GREEN DAY

BREAKING NEWS: Buzznet uncovers Green Day side project

In 2003, one year prior to the release of American Idiot, Green Day secretly released an album titled Money Money 2020 under the name The Network. The sound was a mix of punk and new-wave and featured Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool switching off on vocal duties.

Four years after its release, Buzznet's own DJ Rossstar has just uncovered a new Green Day side-project by the name of Foxboro Hot Tubs. The sound takes you back to the '60s yet has that distinct Billie Joe sound in the vocals.

We discovered this news based on a tip from a source close to Green Day. There's a Foxboro Hot Tubs Web site that is currently just a graphic of a moving clock and you can hear three Foxboro Hot Tubs tracks here! A free downloadable six song album is coming soon.

I GOT THIS FROM BILLIE JOE'S KICKASS FAN MYSPACE

THEY POSTED A BULLETIN

I'm sure the audio engineer for Money Money 2020 wouldn't come here, or if he did, it would be a huge coincidance that he came on yesterday or today.

And, if not that, would he have had him in his number one friends place, or them have them in their top eight?

Buzznet is not confirmation.

The very name "buzznet" indicates gossip.

I suggest we try to look for clues. Currently the page source for their main website has no cool clues, but if they update with nothing new still, we might be able to get something new.

This whole thread is pretty much about that.

Oh, the controversy of wondering who the singer of a band on MySpace is.

Can we take the Network out of this? I think we all agree Green Day had some part of that, we are not talking about The Network, we are talking about Foxboro Hottubs.

Come on it sounds a lot like billie (i would say a 90%), the myspace has all this connections with green day related people, and the band has been around for two months and it already has recorded an album. All together gives them away.

I mentioned The Network for a good reason. Their AUDIO ENGINEER is the guy who's in their top eight. If you look at his profile, Foxboro is the number one guy.

Jesus, it's like I'm talking to a four year old.

im downloading this album, i don't like the new sound, i just think billie's trying to sound like every other band. i think the new album should sound like dookie/nimrod mixed together.
