The picture on the right is a pic of Rob Cavallo, and the picture on the left is from the picture of lower left hand corner of FHT's "Stop, Drop, & Roll" album cover.

It looks strangely similar... doesn't it? The only difference is the liquid eyeliner on the second picture...

This is proof that Billie/Mike/Tre are in the band (for the people that won't believe it). I wouldn't call it a coincidence xD.

:o It is

that photo is more than likely from the 50`s. do you seriously think thats Rob? all the photos that the hot tubs have used are genuine old photos. not ones of them in their youth or anything.

and liquid eye liner? the guy has specs on. he was probably some professor or something! that certainly isnt Rob.

Any picture these days can be photoshopped to look like it's from another time... so you can't really tell if it's genuine or not.

And come to think of it, the third picture on the cover looks kinda like Tre...

(The middle pic is the one on the cover)

I`ll agree that pictures can be photo shopped pretty convincingly these days. but all of the photos they have used are genuine photos. un-edited photos. as for the ones used on the ep sleeve.... apart from the guy, they are all women. and not the guys in drag.

apart from the source of the original leak, plus the jingle town referrence, and the distinctive vocalist, there is absolutely nothing to link the tubbies to green day. no resal proof. just what you guys are seeing, and that is pretty much wishful thinking.

the imagination is a powerful thing, as proved by the green day fan base.

Yeah... I started to notice the pictures after reading another thread, so it's possible it's just my imagination.

I have one question though, how do you know for sure that the pictures are real and un-edited?

**************************************************************************

and the lyrics to homecoming.....

The world is spinning around and around,

Out of control again,

From the 7-11 to the fear of breaking down,

So send my love a letterbomb,

And visit me in hell,

We're the ones going

Home.

We're coming home again

I started fuckin' running,

Just as soon as my feet touch ground,

We're back in the barrio,

But to you and me, that's jingletown

Home.

We're coming home again,

Nobody likes you,

Everyone left you,

They're all out without you,

Having fun.

it would be more fun if The Network and FHT didn't sound EXACTLY like Green Day. I mean, they could at least disguise Bill's voice a BIT better, with a distorter or something.

That's not to say I don't like FHT, it's just not as fun when it's obvious...

Foxboro Hot Tubs make sly move onto chart

By Leah Kauffman

NEW YORK (Billboard) - The Foxboro Hot Tubs emerged on the alt-rock scene in late 2007, bringing with them the boisterous sound of '60s garage rock plus the nagging suspicion that they were actually the members of Green Day fooling around on the side.

Foxboro Hot Tubs' Web site offered an EP, "Stop Drop and Roll," for free download early in December. The MP3s were removed the following week, only to reappear and then vanish again. Currently, none of the three songs posted on the band's MySpace page are offered for sale.

This isn't the first time Green Day's members have been accused of moonlighting. In 2003, they were alleged to have recorded a new wave album under the name the Network, which Billie Joe Armstrong released on his Adeline Records imprint.

Green Day's reps at Reprise had no comment, but there are many clues that strengthen the allegations, such as Armstrong's distinctive vocals and a link on Green Day's site that directs browsers to Foxboro Hot Tubs' MySpace page.

Whoever they are, they're enjoying success on Billboard's Modern Rock chart with "Mother Mary." The cut entered the chart at No. 30 in early February and this week climbs from No. 18 to No. 16.

Modern rock KNRK Portland, Ore., program director Mark Hamilton said that Reprise introduced him to the single late last year but made no mention of the band's membership. "I liked the song before I knew it was Green Day," he said. "It stands alone on its own merits."

According to modern rock WHTG Monmouth-Ocean, N.J., program director Terrie Carr, Foxboro Hot Tubs' "are they or aren't they Green Day" appeal gives them an edge, encouraging listeners to decide for themselves.

seriously? you don't think its Green Day?

cos i really, really do. its got their name written all over it, the band name foxboro hot tubs is a reference itself (posh estate called Foxboro near where billie lived), plus the fact there was a link directly from the green day website to the FHT myspace (pretty sure that's gone now, though.)

and btw, just for anyone that didn't notice/realise..

if you go on foxborohottubs.com , and you hover the mouse over the pictures on the front of the album, they're all like 3-5 second movie clips. not that that makes anything more or less likely, just people were saying "they could've edited the pictures", and it suggested you hadn't noticed that. :)

rob cavallo pic i found on geekstinkbreath:

meh. doesn't look much like the guy on the album front, but i see where you're coming from. i don't think so, though.

In my opinion, just because Mother Mary sounds the most like Green Day, it doesn't make it the best song by the FHT. So far She's A Saint Not A Celebrity is my least fave. As for my fave, I think it's between Stop, Drop & Roll and Highway 1.

What's your fave? And no one is allowed to say Mother Mary in this thread. :D (And yes, I know that's just inviting several hundred people to say Mother Mary out of spite)
