Yeah he doesn't (me neither), but that's not too much of a pedal, it's more to get a better and heavier distortion actually, have you ever used it?

I've never tried it, but I'm feeling now that I should to see what it sounds like.

Mike's bass head is a Gallien-Krueger. Still trying to figure out what model. I'll get back to you!

EDIT: After doing some Googling and comparing those pics of Mike's amp to G-K's current line, it looks as though this is a really old (how old is the question) design concept on the model 800RB.

The current version of the amp looks like this:

You're right! Now that you've mentioned the Gallien-Krueger name, you can make it out on the amp images. Gallien was out of Stockton, CA, so it makes sense that there would be an inordinate amount of older ones in and around the bay area in the 80s. Gallien started in the late 60s. That face plate is so old, it looks home made.
