i'm sure you haven't
speak for yourself.I've yet to get a confirmation, but it seems that Revelar has changed his.
 As I said before in this thread, everything you've said has been discussed to death long before today and long before you were here. Please don't be so damned full of yourself.
as arrogant as what I said may have come across, I was being realistic. I'm not gonna think that anyone left this thread with their thoughts unaffected.and I don't know about before, but I'm guessing your past discussions consisted of probably all fans merely agreeing with each other and contemplating here and there. I'm assuming you don't get fans like me who has as much disrespect for the guys as I have respect for their music.

You're displaying your n00b-ness in an embarrassingly ridiculous manner. Do your research before making such a foolish statement. As I said, everything you've said has been said (long) before.

annie I dont think you have changed one persons opinion.

I think your disrespect for them is unwarranted.

I still dont get why you think they earn a boatload of money off their merchandise, or why you have a problem with a major label capitalizing on a hugely popular album/band.

Labels are in the business to make money. Are you aware that they are signed with one, because you dont act like it.

I dont think Green Day made the merch or made much money on that either. I have heard Billie say that they dont see anything from that. I dont think the boys need any more money to buy starbucks. Nor do I think they sit around deciding what kind of AI onsies, lip balm, or watches, shoelaces, or post it notes they are going to release. Warner/Reprise's marketing dept decides that. I think you are wrong in saying 20-40 somethings are a small minority of their fans. Most teenies were barely born when Dookie was big.

wrong, merch makes huge amounts of money. more than half at a show.

and if Reprise is so like that, then surely there'd be equal amounts of merch with MCR and other Reprise bands. and surely there would've been way more merch for the other albums than there was.

as I was saying 20-40 years is a huge span compared to 10-20 years. and fact is, GD could've kept most of all those loyal fans from Dookie if they hadn't let out all that merch. that's what the difference is, they've lost their old fans for the sake of trend-following new ones (who would just drop GD within a matter of time anyway).

research? she's probably way too punk for that.

And she's far too busy coming up with unique and revolutionary ideas about Green Day! :woot: Woo!!

I'm here for civilised conversation. my ideas aren't originally mine and they aren't that so punk-inspired. they pretty much deal with the morals of the band and morals that would apply to anyone.

so you're to tell me that Green Day selling undies and other useless crap has everything to do with what the band stands for? weren't you insisting that Green Day were totally true?

well while she's doing that i'll take off my Green Day t-shirt and shoes and change into my Green Day pj's, then i might have a drink from my Green Day mug. then i'll step over my Green Day rug and under my Green Day duvet and rest my head on my Green Day pillowcase. then i'll be woken up by my Green Day alarm clock :)

One more time, just for fun. It's all been discussed here before. We've read it all before. Have you read this entire thread and the other threads that have been done ?? You're just rehashing it. Been there, done that. We've all been down this road before. No new ideas here.

Maybe I haven't gotten my point across...

hey, I'm not a n00b. I used to be friends with particulars here.

and I used to be the ones who defended GD with every possible excuse I could think of. and now I'm back to put in my opinion. if this discussion's "dead" as you all claim it to be, then why aint the thread closed? amirite?

Wrong again annie. Green Day doesnt see much of that money, nor do they make their music so they can capitalize on merchandise. (that would be selling out)

MCR's album wasnt nearly as popular as AI was for Green Day. I am sure if they have a repeat huge album you will see tons more merch for them too.

I am old, and I dont know many fans that left because they sold merch with AI. You know why?? Because their music still KICKED ASS. Thats why. It would be pretty shallow to say otherwise.
