mmmcrazypills
haha. i get it ;Oi prefer the physical thing as well, but i've lately really gotten into downloading...it's baaaad D=I stopped it makes me feel guilty if I get caught and my mom has to pay wild fines.I heard it's legal if it's under 999 songs. Countrygirl
Wow, I'm an idiot. I should've bought the CD in the beginning. I guess I have to pay for the songs again but I think it may be worth it. Unless, someone posts the CD's inside cover booklet, I have to buy it. Ugh, I'm so stupid! FilmAdaptation
The "true fans would buy the actual CD" is completely stupid. Having the physical doesn't make you anymore of a fan.

lift-to-happy-hour
That's why I prefer to buy a physical CD. You get the booklet, which download chumps don't get!yeh same here i hate people that download stuff from the internet its so much better to get the cd
Minority2
Yeah, I totally agree! I mean, if you're only want to listen to a songs you have a great chance in the internet, but if you really like a band and you wanna listen to their music more than just 3 minutes you should buy the record!! It's a completely different feeling to have an album as a file on your computer.
MrGreenDayUK
Afraid not. That's right. I used to download but I stopped because I felt kind of guilty, and I like having a physical CD. My dad didn't even know downloading was illegal! As for being sued, it depends which service you use. The record industry tend to make examples of people who download and share songs and it doesn't happen very often. If you share as well as download you're more likely to get caught. The last I heard of it was some postman who got sued for £80,000. If you use Limewire, Kazaa or iMesh you might get caught because the industry have wised up to them. People I know use BitTorrent- it's supposedly very quick and relatively risk-free, with no spyware shit.If you want to download videos, legally or not, don't even bother because whatever you search for you'll just end up being given a load of porn videos.I'm not encouraging you to download, I'm just saying what I know. It's OK if the music doesn't have copyright though, for example if its a new band trying to get their music to a wider audience for free.

netty
Yeah, I've stopped because it gave me a load of viruses. I think I got about 43 viruses off video downloads from other sites.good. if that means you stop doing it and start thinking about those who actually make a living from this industry (and I`m not talking about the band) then good on you. finally. all this bullshit about downloads and how the bands can afford to lose the sales.. totally ignores the rest of the people the industry employs. you want to buy a cd.... those cd`s have to be made... cue people who supply the raw materials... the people who make the machines the make the discs, the people who make the printers for the inserts, the people who drive the lorries between the various suppliers, cue the people who pack the boxs when people buy on line, the people who supply the shops that sell the discs... the people who work in those shops. oh yeah.... green day can sit there saying they dont give a fuck about being ripped off by torrent sites... or whatever. but ripping the band off in that way... doesnt just rip them off. it rips the rest of the industry off. and forget the "fuck the industry" shit.... that industry is kept going by people like you and me at the end of the day. people who work to keep a roof over their head!
