if i can ask them something, i'll ask them that :P

i wonder if they found the car on ebay or some junkyard...

Why? You want to shag that one, too?

Can you do a cross-Canada tour?

That's a good idea but how would we know who got through?

to start with, any questions submitted would be edited into the first post of this thread.

and, then if a vote was going to be taken over this, a new thread would be started I would imagine, and then the members could vote which were best.

whatever way its done, I should imagine we will be told which questions have been put forward.

then everybody will start bitching about how their question is more important/funny/punk or some other such rubbish.

personally, I think I`d be too interested in trying to find their gig "sound board" archive if there is such a thing, rather than asking questions. that or raiding the booze cupboard. :P

Yeah, that sounds like a lot less work for Andres. It would make things easier.

To Each:

Would you like to see your kids get into the music business someday?

Would you be supportive if any of your kids decided to frequent Gilman St. as you did when you were younger?

Which song (not a Green Day Song!) is your guilty pleasure? Really rubbish and naff but for some inexplicable reason you can't help loving it?

What is the most important quality for a musician to have to stay consistant with good song writing?

Do you guys analyze a lot of situations you're in and question if they'd be good topics for songwriting?

What is your typical song writing process? Do start by writing riffs and add melodies and lyrics? Or vice versa?

What kind of songs are you most interested in listening to? writing? i.e (polical, love, growing up, or just songs you relate to)

A lot children of musicians grow up playing music as well, do you see that happening with your kids? do your kids like your kind of music?

To any/all of them: Have you read your biography on Wikipedia, and if so, was there anything there that's not true?

Of course, it doesn't have to be Wikipedia. It could just be, have you ever read any facts about yourself that weren't true, and if so, what was it?

I dunno, I'm not good at the original questions thing. :P

to all the band "If you havent been musicians what you think you been?"
They have answered that before.. I think Billie said a baseball coach, Tré a burgaler or clown and I can't remember Mike's.. probably a coffee store owner!

Billie has also sued a female fan who threatened to hurt Adrienne because she wanted her art work used as an album cover.
ORLY? :0 That's fucked up! Does anyone have a link from where this info is from?

To Billie Joe

Do you ever not want to sing certain songs sometimes because it is too personal?

I really think that's an awesome question, cos I think some must be. But I think you should expand it into maybe, are there ever any he writes that he doesn't release because they are too personal, and how does it feel to get such a positive reaction to those songs..

To Billie: What's your favorite song from every album?

Okay, that really sucked.

He answered that already in the Times Talks Q&A audio. ;)

I think I would ask the whole band if making music and being in a band has changed much since the Dookie Era, I mean other than just getting used to being a band, do they still feel the same way about what they want to achieve, what it means to tour and to put out records.

Is there any chance of them/someone connected to them of putting up any of their old concerts, for the fans, man! XD

Umm.. if they had to sell the East Bay as a tourist attraction, what would they say?!

Do they still view their earlier songs in the same way, or have meaning changed over time since the memory of the original inspiration fades away and new meanings may become attached?

..and just generally that we miss them. :D

Do you take into account all the success and awards that American Idiot meant while making new music, or you just do it as if it was the beginning?
Do your kids think you are 'the coolest dads in the world', or are they self conscious about all the fame and attention you get?
Do you feel that American Idiot helped to change the way kids see the world at the moment, like politically?
To each of them: So far, what do you think is your worst success? And your best failure?

Do you ever worry about how your children/family responds to your music or fan reactions to your music?
Do your children read the Harry Potter series or do you enjoy reading them yourselves?

Do they (your kids) wear any Green Day shirts to school?

To all the band: Dont you guys ever wanna ask the questions?
(Ie: your fans opinions)

^^ I like those.

you could ask about what he says in the beggining of knowledge. or at the end of hitchin a ride.

.. and "Lets get personal" backwards and "Wampy wampy" ;)

What are some of your fetishes?
If you could rename the band, what would it be?

I like these ^^ ones too.. *shifty*

"Why do you constantly play the same songs at shows and continue to neglect songs from albums such as 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours?"

or

"How do you decide which songs to play at shows, seeing as how you have such a wide selection to choose from?"

or

"It appears to be only the rare occasion when you play older, lesser known songs at shows. Is there a chance we might see some more of this happening on your next tour? A possibility perhaps of you playing elusive songs like "Tight Wad Hill" and "Only Of You" etc, more frequently?

They have answered these already, they said that for a start some songs just go down better live, and that they have to think of the audience as a whole, to balance some old songs with the hits as for every old song they play, there are like 40,000 people going WTF??

Are you guys worried about goggle maps?

It would seem stupid to ask them this, but I've always wanted to know what their stance is on the current state of popular music, if not all music in the world today. Do they think its deplorable, great, stupid, degrading?

But like I said, it would seem stupid to ask them this.

why do they choose to still make music

when one

they all have children that are growing up and need them around

and two

they have plenty of money to last them the rest of their lives

i dont want them to say 'because i love it; its my life'

seriously

their kids are getting older, sometimes you have to give up things you love for the ones you love

i love them

but they've been doing this for a long time

i just feel bad for their families.

its really not your place to judge them. you don't know what its like for his family. Maybe they're all really happy, but you assume otherwise.

how was i judging them ?

i wasn't saying they were bad people for leaving their families

you're the one that assumed i thought otherwise

im just saying they are getting older, so are their kids i would think that they would want to be home..

i dont see the judging in that. buut ok =]

Well no one for the most part wants to ask stuff that willmake the guys think.
You're only saying that your questions suck because no one has responded with their opinions on them. That doesn't mean your questions are bad. Nobody's mentioned what they think of mine either, and I still think they're pretty good questions. Don't worry about it! Ultimately, it's up to Andres whether or not any of these queries get through to the band.
Ah.Artist like John Mayor,K.T Tunstall, and Sheril Crow have all gone green on tour, will you do the same?
Your other questions were good, but THIS is even better, especially considering the shitshow that was Live Earth earlier this month.

Do you think that having children at such a young age hindered your sucess as a band during the Insomniac era and if you could go back, would you have put off starting families for a few years?

I definitely want my double bass question in there (see page 6)

I've seen a picture of Mike with one, but I want to know if he actually plays one or would ever take one on tour

That's a good question, but i doubt they'd say yes. It'd probably be something along the lines of "my kids were the best thing that ever happened to me."

I love the double bass, but its shit harder to play then the bass guitar. I attempted, but didn't get too far.
