Mauri Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 The first song I learned to play on guitar was basket case... and the first time I heard it with my teacher I was shocked...
Robin105 Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 I remember I kept hearing American idiot on the radio and I only liked that one song. Then when BOBD came out I never listened to it. Then one day I was really bored and I was listening to the Music Choice Alternative channel and they played it on there and liked it. But I didnt really get into them until live 8. I liked them but I didnt love them. I knew there names but I thought Mike was Tre and Tre was Mike for some reason and when I started my senior year of high school 2 years ago I remember I developed a HUMONGUS crush on Billie and I bought American idiot and International superhits. Then I saved up and bought there other ones. I just recently bought 1039 and kerplunk. about half a year ago. And look at me now I am there number 1 fan. lol
Dearlybeloved666* Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 well i think the first time I heard them was when i heard Nice Guys Finish Last and after that I started to get their other albums and stuff and have loved them ever since..
GuitarPlayer5 Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Once I heard the singles off of Dookie, I started getting really interested.
spark in the night Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 the AI music videosaw it on tv once, thought it was the coolest thing ever, sparked my interest to find out more
Bryn Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 I liked the songs I would hear here and there since Dookie came out, but I went out and bought American Idiot after hearing AI, and that kinda sealed it. After that, I fell in love with them. Their attitude, their music, all of it. I relate to some of the things they have been through. To the lyrics. I am their age, grew up working class. The fuck it I am doing what I want attitude, not fitting in in school, I relate to all of that.I think they stay true to themselves, even through everything.

Boston Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 I heard American Idiot and BOBD. Then I met up with a girl who loved Green Day, so I bought American Idiot to sort of impress her. After that I started to like them a lot, and I bought all of their CDs.
xBasKetxCaSex Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Pretty much when I started Really getting in to music. just shortly after I realized how much I liked music my friend Katt was singing Minority in the lunch line.. I recognized the name Green Day.. went home downloaded half of what they had out and LOVED it... shortly after I got the other half.
Relavar Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Randomly heard their songs.Loved it.Although i absolutely hated American Idiot when it first came out.I thought it was the worst song and video in the fucking world, and i had no idea why it was #1...But soon after that i came to my senses.
Dry_Ice Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I guess my sister because she had a like one or two songs on her iPod [1st generation].She didn't really fancy them but i would listen to Longview over and over again. But also back when Good Riddance came out.But really my friend Elaina pushed me and I love them so much now. So its been 5-6+ years since I fell for a very great band.ha
The One with the Yellowy Eyes Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 i heard bobd and wmuwse first and really liked those songs, then i heard holiday and i got totally sucked in. it is such an energetic song and the lyrics really made me think, as opposed to the lyrics of most songs on the radio.
sharpies123 Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Just the sound of their music. It was different then what I was listening to at that point (right when AI came out), so..I bought AI and fell in love with them.
