It kind of pissed me off that they were on that show. I can't stand it since everyone is so crazy over it and for no reason!

I was happy to see them though! Made me drool a bit...

Dude. Default font & colour. Plz. Thnx.

Download link anyone? *hasn't been following the thread*

I was just on the GDA and whenever I click on the Picture Vault link to pics from the American Idol performance it says that the album does not exist. Is it just my computer or is it the GDA?

I was amazed when I seen Billie wasn't using his Gibson Les Paul Junior or Blue.

Haha.

Haha? Is life some kind of joke to you?!?!?!

I'm pretty sure he was playing this. I couldn't tell if the neck pup was a P-90 or not and his tuners were klusons, but this is the closest thing I've found: http://www.gibsoncustom.com/flash/products...1954Custom.html

I'm really glad that Billie doesn't have facial hair anymore and has his hair longer :P

I was worried he was gonna look like he did in New Orleans. I was surprised how much they showed Jason - more than they showed Mike or Tre!

I missed the first like 2 seconds of their performance ... but I watched the rest. It was great!:wub:

I didn't watch it but I woke up and they were talking about it on the radio. I was kinda bummed. I was not only bummed that Green Day was on the Antichrist of television, but that star magazine was right. :/

I found this at the Kelly Clarkson Express boards, it's a review from someone that was at the American Idol finale:

So after we were all in our seats Green Day was announced and the band came out on stage. There was a rather long wait until the guys were given the go ahead to start their performance so Billy Joe, the lead singer, started talking to the audience and he was so awesome and funny. He started out by asking if there was anyone from a bunch of random different cities and people would cheer when he mentioned where they were from. Then a couple of girls yelled out and Billy Joe asked them where they were from. He couldn’t hear them clearly so he asked them to come up there. They went over there and put their arms around his shoulders as they talked and they said they were from London.

Billy Joe announced they were doing this performance to bring attention to the situation in Darfur and directed people to the website instantkarm.org . That really explained the randomness of this appearance be the band. So the band was finally given the cue to start their performance. After the first verse the performance was stopped because the lighting wasn’t right. Billy Joe joked that that was it, the performance was done. A pause happened while the lights were adjusted and Billy Joe pointed out that this song had the f word in it. Then the band restarted, I thought they did an excellent job. After the applause had died down some of the production staff were talking to each other and they asked the band to do the song again. Someone in the audience yelled out for the band to sing another song. Billy Joe responded to them saying that they would do the song over again and then they’d play another one. The stage manager was standing behind him shaking her head to indicate that the extra song was a no-go. Billy Joe said, “Man, I can’t get away with anything!” it was pretty cute. The stage manager replied that she was a mom, Billy Joe said they liked and respected moms. The stage manager said when you don’t listen to moms you get a time-out. Billy Joe laughed and said he felt like he was already in a time-out because the performance was being pre-taped. I guess they didn’t want to risk having to hit the censor button at the right time doing the performance live. Oddly, the censoring was also done for the live audience as well, so we didn’t hear the f-bomb. So then Green Day performed one more time and they were done. The whole thing was very cool, I’m so glad I got to see it live. Oh yeah, if you pay attention to the judges table during this performance, the people sitting there aren’t the actual judges, they were their stand-ins or as Katy called them “fake Simon, Paula, and Randy”, haha. Randy’s stand-in was significantly thinner than the real Randy and Paula’s double’s hair was much redder than Paula’s. During a break Billy Joe told Paula’s stand-in “Paula, I like you’re nose!” That guy is too funny.

Just watched the first 45 seconds of the youtube vid, and had to turn it off. It made my skin crawl. And I stand by my opinion that I got slated for last night.

Oh well, they might start on a new album of original material sometime in the next few years...
