nimrod-41
Did anyone see Billie's cheeky smile at the end? That made me laugh but I don't know why...Anyway, awsome performance. Shame about it being American Idol, but at least they're getting the message out. Feels good to see 'em playin' again.
surfandturf
I understand why they did it. AI has such a big effect on things, it reaches a TUN of people, and even people who bash AI watch the show..Sence that song is for charity it makes all the sence. It will sell more now. Im proud that they did AI. It took curage. and they sounded damn good at it

Anko
I am not even thinking about the American Idol side of it, all I am seeing is LIVE Working Class Hero XDI had a vision I knew if they did perform it'd be WCH  Nobody is going to listen to me, but I'm gonna say it any way...STOP ARGUING, GREEN DAY IS PERFORMING, WHO CARES WHY OR WHERE!? BUT THEY ARE!!? CANT WE ALL JUST SCREAM OF JOY AND RUN AROUND OUR APARTMENTS OR HOUSES OF JOY?THANK YOU.I ran around my neighborhood naked in joy They were AMAZING!!!!!! I loved it ,there were other performancesI liked like Carrie Underwood, and Gwen but I wasdissapionted with Kelly's performance, the music was nonexsistaint  But what I HATED even more was the Areosmith performance,I actuallyexpected the band themselves not their guitarist and Sanjaya  But the best performance was Green Day SO FUCK OFF YOU GD BASHERS,THEY'RE DOING THIS FOR CHARITY!!!!!!! Fuzz
Why? I can't believe they actually did it. I've lost respect...Because they played a song to promote a good cause? Or because you're full of yourself?

-King-For-a-Day-
Green Day have changed, it's a bit disapointing but its cos they have grown up and stuffnever thought they would EVER be on American Idol, it'll be the X Factor next
OliDayyy
No, they don't have changed. They're still intelligent. They know that a lot of people watch American Idol, so it's good for the promo of the song and so for the record 'Instant Karma'.Look at Billie's face just after the end of the song...I would have been disappointed if they have sung an other song, but it isn't the case, so ^^I really like their performance, Billie's voice is amazing :]
cam-greenday-fan
it's not there falt they were on american idol it's the manager that does it to promote the song everybody is just over reacting it was good to see them play live

cellophaneice
I don't care if you hate AI. Just think about how many people watch that show and how many people that song got to reach. It's the point behind it.
failure00
Oh, man! I felt so bad when Billie fucked up the words.Nevermind, it appears that the video on GDA is a little messed up. I caught the performance last night right after that part so I had to go by what was on here. Here's another video from youtube of last night's performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFEwY3SDozE
Jillie Boe.
Because they played a song to promote a good cause? Or because you're full of yourself?Obviously neither of those. I'm not going to have a stupid debate over this and be attacked by people just because I disagree with them.
-King-For-a-Day-
how does he muck the words up? the version on GDA cuts it out oh my god our lives are officially over, he misses out "they"!! SHOCK!
Rivada
"they drug you with religion, sex and TV" and yet there they are, SINGING ON TV, starring in one of the biggest mainstream no-brainer shows ever to air.Perhaps they wanted to send a message and went straight to the poisoning source? "You can't all be some kind of famous Gods/though media and culture has distorted you into believing it's either that or suicide/a working class hero is something to be"? Or maybe the whole thing's just ironic.I think one of them has mentioned American Idol as a guilty pleasure, before.
