Mr Smith
Hey there,I don't want this to be taken as spam, as it isn't. I have a two hour slot on a local radio station and love promoting Green Day's music, (especially their latest ). I want to do a special thing though.- I want to do their first ever song written, from what I have read on websites, Billie's first song is "Why do you want him" off the 1,039 album, is this correct?- I want to do their best ever hit song, and I have a feeling it could be an old one, or it could be one off american idiot (such as wake me up). I'm not sure, does anybody have statistics about their BEST (Voted best please, not just your feelings as the best song).- And play their latest song... (YAAAY I got a mate to buy it off iTunes for me, so I owe him two bucks tomorrow haha)...Thanks for your help. This may be closed after the question is answered. Thanks again
Cassie.
I would assume Why do you want him is the earliest song he wrote. I don't think there are any statistics as to what is the best song. But I think maybe something off either Dookie or American Idiot seen as they were the 2 albums that gained Green Day most of their publicity and things. 14razorbacks
billie's first song was look for love when he was 5. It's hilariousHave to doubt he wrote the whole thing.Anyway, repsonse to original post...First song: Why Do You Want HimMost successful, best selling song: See, it used to be Basket Case. But American Idiot sold so much more than Dookie.. I have a feeling American Idiot might actuallly be there most successful song. Could be Wake Me Up.EDIT: I just checked stats for you. One source says A.I, one source says W.M.U.W.S.E. Either.Latest: Are you counting cover versions? If so, Working Class Hero. If not, Favourite Son? (can be found on Rock Against Bush vol. 2).--Rich
Rita
Okay, their first ever song is Why Do You Want Him.Best ever hit song - maybe Longview, Basket Case, When I Come Around (Dookie), Nice Guys Finish Last, Hitchin' A Ride, Redundant (Nimrod).Latest Song - yeah, Working Class Hero is a nice idea. If not, The Saints are Coming. Or something like Too Much, Too Soon.

clusterbomb
why do u want himboulevard of broken dreams (seems to be the 1 that won the most awards etc.) although if anything other than that it would probably be basket case or good riddance.

Scotty Did
Latest: Are you counting cover versions? If so, Working Class Hero. If not, Favourite Son? (can be found on Rock Against Bush vol. 2).--RichFavourite Son was released before A.I.either way what ever the "most popular" song is. mix it up and instead of playing the version every one knows, play like a live version or something

FilmAdaptation
If you have two hours, you can play a ton. I doubt it'll be too hard to play a nice variety.
