HIM are punk? Since when?...

MCR aren't punk, they were influenced by it... They sing about fucking vampires for god sakes, how is that punk?

Well they’re a theatrical band, that’s why they use all that metaphor stuff. Which is partly to do with Iron Maiden. :P

And their first two albums were about Vampires taking over some town.. Hardly "punk"

i used to listen to GD all the time when i discovered all their albums almost all at once and went on a spending spree... but now i diversify a bit and listen to other stuff such as The Living End and Nine Inch Nails, but overall GD are still my favourite band

as someone said earlier, people might seem to go off green day now, but when they bring out their new album they are going to be fucking massive...

I'm listen to other bands but I still fan of Green Day and I prefer listen to Green Day than MCR, FOB and specially Panic At the disco.

Look up “metaphor”

Yes, they use metaphors.. BUT.. Bullets and Revenge were concept albums about the Demolition Lovers.. Town was over-run by vampires.. One gets shot... and I'm sure you know the story..

Revenge wasn't a concept album, it wasn't meant to be anyway. Besides, what you just said is still metaphoric.

It was a continuation off Bullets! Gawsh!

Anyway, enough about MCR

Green Day need to bring out something new if they don't want to lose fans.. it's their fault..

It was not :/

Anyway, I've lost interested in Green Day. I mean, their music just doesn't do much for me anymore. I might start listening to them when their new album comes out, but for now I'm taking a break. Plus I'm a little put off by their recent attitude, and how they keep promoting themselves.

You can like other bands even if you like Green Day.

It stands to reason that the vast majority of people's musical tastes will extend a little further than just one band. I doubt that there are many people who listen to just one artist/band exclusively for their entire lives, that would actually be kinda weird when you think about it.

Yes, there's been a little break after the massive tour and promotion surrounding American Idiot and before the release of the forthcoming album, and during that time many fans will use other bands as distractions till the new material appears.

But that doesn't mean those fans are lost, it just means that they are human and not going to sit around twiddling their thumbs waiting for the new album but instead focusing their attention on new music till it actually arrives and probably still listening to the existing GD songs in the meanwhile too.
