Imagine A Super-album For Green Day's Next Release...

We know Billie mentioned three approaches they were considering for the new album, due tentatively in 2008. Each approach had its own sound (Punk, Rock Opera, Experimental, etc.), but imagine if they combined all of these elements into one giant album, with around 30 tracks? One CD for each sound, AND lay a story on top of it if they desired. Imagine what a huge album it would be. I understand some people aren't looking for another rock opera from them.. but think of the possibilities of such a huge album. Such a gigantic arrangement of songs. Maybe don't even organize it by genre: just mix it up from song to song.

Anyone have any other ideas for a Green Day super-album? There hasn't been much news on Green Day lately and talking about them helps the Green Day void not seem so bad.

A super album, if done properly, would be fucking amazing and well worth the 4 year wait, in my opinion.

I think as long as they do their best and dont do anything half assed, which I think Green Day always does, they never do anything half assed, the album will be worth the long wait

four years isnt that long really. its only been what, not even a year and a half since they finished the tour. they might have three different styles on the go but to get enough good songs in each style, to put out a three disc set?? that would take way longer than 2008 and they would be sick of the whole thing by then.

They could change their name to Pink Floyd while they're at it.

I'll be happy with a decent one disc album, and I think that's probably what it will be.

HUAhauhuaha!!!

As long as they don't turn into another band I'm cool

They should do an Insomniac since it's what they did after major succesfull Dookie, and since AI was also major succes they should do a angry filt album.

But I know they won't cuz they like the media now, it will probably have the same appeal as AI and will play on the radio and everythin all over again :P

Or I could be sooooo wrong and they release something totally new and reviving

i think a super album like that should only come out if the artist hasnt been on the scene for awhile. i know it will be four years since american idiot came out, but theyre still relevant, unlike the time in between warning and american idiot where everyone thought they were done for...so i dont really think a "super" album is really neccesary, but if thats what they chooses to do thats fine with me, as long as its as great as their other work

Don't even joke about it

“Ooh, I’m in love with (Sir) Bob Geldof,

Saving polar bears gets me off,

I’m best buddies with Bono who’s old,

He wears a hat coz he’s going bald,

Ooh yeah…”

etc

Your Insomniac now! Congrats

I would firstly kill people and then die myself if Billie ever wirtes a song like that, and surely Mike and Tre' woul disaprove and the band would split up or Billie would force them to play with his ultra emga super powers
