Thanks for the link Beth. I would have paid anything to see them race the Beasties in golf carts.

that was a good article, but if you read an article about them today, and compare it to that one...you'll find that they've contradicted themselves beyond belief.

Thanks for the article Beth.

I really enjoyed it.

It was nice to see Mike doing some of the talking.

Not that I don't like Billie doing most of the interviews, its just that I like to see Mike and Tre get some action too.

I think that sometimes some people forget that Mike and Tre are as much a part of Green Day as Billie is.

REally cool article! But it really shows how much they have changed :P

Dirnt said they frowned at limos and sutff, they don't do anymore, I guess you can't not be a star for that long

I hope they stick to this:

"We're going to go home and take care of business," Dirnt says. "If you get too far from where you come from and who you were and from what made you big, you become a parody of what you were. And that's wrong."

this is kind of what makes me not like them so much anymore.. i mean, im the same way... rockstars shmockstars. limosines are stupid.. etc, but now they are fucking constantly in limo's..and i dont see it as something i would change.. so hum.

I know the "they've changed" issue has been discussed to death, but I'll say once again that I really don't think they've changed. They've always been a bundle of contradictions (not for nothing Billie Joe wrote Walking Contradiction), but that's exactly what keeps them honest: life is full of paradoxes, and you can only be truthful with yourself if you accept and acknowledge them.

You only become dishonest when you change your beliefs so that they'll conform to your actions, because your actions are often going to be contradictory. Or if you become so doctrinaire that your actions no longer make sense under the circumstances. Like if they refused to ride in limos, for instance: given their circumstances, in which limos are the norm, it would be a whiny affectation to insist on refusing to ride in them.

Thanks for posting the article Beth. I'd seen it before but it was cool nonetheless. :)
