Parents singing along to Green Day songs

My Mum loves 'Warning. She sings along to the chorus. I'll bet she even knows all the words to the whole song. And that's saying something as she's over fifty.

Yeh, when I play them in the car my mom sings them because she's learned the lyrics from hearing it played in my room so many times.

My dad used to like them until I played them to shit and he got sick of them.

My mom doesn't sing any songs, she doesn't know english very well so I don't think she understands the lyrics.

My dad dislikes Green Day... and sounds aweful when he sings. My mother mostly hums or mummbles when When I Come Around is on the radio. I find this rather entertaining.

Once my dad sang along to Holiday, but thats about it. I dont think my parents ever cared about what music I listened to.

My dad sings along occasionally. As a joke.

Then sometimes he'll randomly belt out some of his favourtie lyrics o.o

my mom loves green day, she sings along all the time to st.jimmy and well, pretty much every song she knows which is a lot. hell, she was even like "next time green day rolls into town, we are getting in the mosh pit!" my expression:  and then :woot:

my dad doesn't like them and always throws in snide comments about billie joe like every day.

sometimes though, i'll catch him singing holiday or tapping his fingers when it comes on the radio :P

My mom loves singing along to all their songs. Hell, she's been a fan for so long, she even had better seats then me at the concert in 05. :D

My dad used to say he didn't really like them, but I caught him humming along to Good Riddance in the car once when I was playing International Superhits:

Dad: I like this song, who sings it?

Me: Um, Green Day does.

Dad: Well, I know they're singing it now, but who sang it originally?

Me: ...Green Day...

Dad: But this song's been around for a while.

Me: Yeah, '97. They started in Berkeley in the 80s dad.

Dad: ...oh...

I know he didn't want to say it, but I'm pretty sure he thought they'd only been around like 5 years. The man hasn't really listened to the radio since he married my mom in 89.

my dad said something along the lines of that too..

for some reason he didnt believe that Green Day originally sang it :ermm:

I remember we were in the car one day, and me and my brother were talking about music and he was saying how boulevard of broken dreams licked, and my mom turned around and went "NO IT'S NOT, IT'S A GOOD SONG!"

Yeah, my dad only listens to AI, even though he has Dookie. I'm forcing him to listen to all their other albums. My mom sings along to Green Day in the car, and I guess I sometimes catch my dad humming it.

My parents used to be in a band, so they sort of sing to everything.

God, my Dad sings AND swings to Green Day ... I mean like, dances!

I was just playing Holiday in my basement and all of a sudden, my Dad rushed down and said, "Yeah! Let's swing dance!" and he was dancing around ... I was thinking 'no, God, no.'

and it was weird hearing my Dad start singing Misery in the shower

God I'm glad my parents don't do that!

My english teacher starting singing Basket Case in class one time (don't ask), and I was freaking out!

Before that happened, I had a nightmare about a teacher making my whole class sing BOBD..!  Even worse.

It's not actually my parents who sing Green Day... They know who they are, but I think they're hoping that it's "just a phase."

But my best friend's mom... Ooh, this is interesting. My friend had the International Superhits! CD in the car CD Player thing (I was with)... The song "She" came on, and my friend's mom said, "Ooh! I like this song."

Then she starts attempting to sing it, but it's horribly out-of-key and she doesn't quite know the words.

And she sings along to Basket Case with me and my friend... (Customary to drop everything and sing if we hear Basket Case...). Scary. :woot:

I am proud to say, my mother knows most of the lyrics to most of Green Day's songs becuase of me and my brothers, so if I ever play a Green Day CD in the car, she'll sing along. =]
