InsomniacN14
Hi all,I'm kind of new to guitaring and am a big fan of Green Day (I havn't been to any concerts though), and have a question if anybody can answer it about tuneing down. I have bought 5 of the Green day guita tab books and noticed that some songs are in standard tune, some half step down, and some full step down. Now i've never to one of there concerts, but do they have to keep tuning up and down all the time to play there songs or do they play them some other way if you know what i mean. Please helpMany thanksOK, here's the breakdown:1039/SOSH: mix of Eb (aka half-step down), and standardKerplunk!: EbDookie: Eb, aka tuned downa a half-stepInsomniac: Eb on everything but jaded, which is standard tuningNimrod: standardWarning: standardAmerican Idiot: standard tuningtracks 1 - 10 on 39 smooth are standard tuning, 11 to 19 are 1/2 step dpwn and some a full step.Nope, at the library is in Eb, pretty sure.Burnout is standard Nope, it's in Eb, try again please
Boston
They have different guitars and such. Also, the power-chord playing is simple b/c they just play a fret lower/higher.

Vanessa
As others have said, Billie has different guitars tuned in different ways, and depending on what key the song is in, that's the guitar he uses.Exp. He's playing a song that's tuned standard, so he'll use the guitar that's tuned standard.
