Parley
I'm pretty sure that NRDC are paying Green Day a pretty penny for doing this. Please document your basis for this opinion. What makes you pretty sure that NRDC are paying Green Day?
IHateYou
so this is what green day's a & r guy is making them do to stay afloat? pretty fucking lame if you ask me. there is NO way that a punk band, especially green day, are going to save the world from our oil problem. how am i supposed to take a message like that from them seriously? especially from tre. jesus christ, if this is supposed to foreshadow into their new album, if they still think they can be the next clash, then i'm REALLY finished listening to green day. jesus christ... nessa1416
Please document your basis for this opinion. What makes you pretty sure that NRDC are paying Green Day?:lol:I had to read your first sentance 3 times to understand what you were asking me :whistling: I just feel that it's all kind of fake. Not the global warming thing--that is very real, it's just that Green Day have showed support for organizations before, like the one where they encouraged kids to vote with their cell phones at shows. That seems real to me. This seems very scripted, and like something that NRDC called up Green Day's management and organized, not something that Green Day (personally) called up NRDC and asked if they could do a advertisement for their cause. justcause
I think it matters little whether or not it was scripted - GD are songwriters, in the middle of producing a new album, and they hardly have time to put together a tight soundbite that says everything the NRDC wants to say, and which Green Day are seeking to endorse. Green Day are not running an environmental organization, they're drawing attention to it, and seeking to help the people who are working on these issues every day. Thanks to their endorsement and their pulling-power, this organization got attention in the media and across a broad demographic which they might never have otherwise reached. Green Day have always stuck to their principles of giving 'enough to argue' - they've never told anyone what to do, they just put it out there, and suggest what you could do if you wanted to change things. They seek to show people that the power is in their own hands, be it in your personal life, your politics, or your world.
**nobodylikesyou**
^ as usual well said angeline.to the rest of you,Wow you people have way too much time on your hands to come up with all these conspiracy theories. I think its great what they are doing and as usual, the naysayers come out. But why do they have to come out at a green day fan site for goodness sakes? Go away or be informed. Please. **nobodylikesyou**
sence doesnt make any sense to me. But no that isn't what i was saying. You said basically they were getting paid for it. You didn't say in my opinion, I think they are getting paid. You said I am pretty sure, with nothing to back that up. You weren't saying if you agreed with them or not. And quoting yourself in your sig. That makes no "sence" either. To be honest, I was really glad to see some people come on and totally question what they were doing - it's as it should be. What kind of Green Day fan doesn't question what Green Day do?I think its great when people question why, but i think its stupid when people say assume a bunch of stuff and post it as almost fact. But whatever floats peoples boats.

What kind of Green Day fan doesn't question what Green Day do?i concur. every time i go against the sheeplike herd in this forum i get shot down by teenie boppers or king follower andres the webmaster nazi. fuck that! what, is andres afraid that green day won't accept the little GDA stickers anymore if andres doesn't police his nazi-message board? and of course i'll get banned for this comment, like i really give a flying shit. farley drexel hatcher
I'm guessing that NRDC jumped at the chance of having Green Day team up with them, considering the amount of exposure it would get them. Just look at the debate it's caused here. No matter what anyone says, it's got everyone talking about global warming - some people admitted to not having heard of NRDC before this. I hadn't. I still don't get how anyone can see any bad in this. They have always done their bit for benefits and fund raising and awareness, as far as i can tell. netty
exactly! they supported the gay community right from the start, and still do. they`ve had links with green peace and the nrdc on their site, and Brian has them on the .net site as well. its the back ground they came from. its the fans who got them labelled as pop-punk, teeny bopper lust material. not them. they havent gone in for the whole up front messages about things so much in the past. more the subtle things. sadly too few fans actually got what they were saying in my opinion. well, too few on the forums. they have always stuck to what they believed in, they are just being more vocal and direct about it now. thats the only difference. Please.i have to agree with u. i mean, this is a fan site, not a hate site and if people are going to get in here and talk crap about them and what they are doing to try to make a difference in the world, fuck u. everybody has their own opinions but this is a site for people that are going to come in here and support what they are doing, not critisize it. if u want to critisize it, go find a hate site to do it on. i think that everything they do is a good thing, i mean they used to be bratty imature punk kids and then after they got married and had kids and found a life, they realized that there are things in the world that they could help deal with and if they get somewhere with it, great, if they dont, so what, they tried. come on guys, they are trying to make a difference in the beautiful world we live in, and everybody should support that because we're the ones living in this world and we're the ones who are going to get affected by this global warming and stuff, they are trying to make a difference in the world and make it a better place for kids, everybody in here, them, their families and some of u guys are in here talking crap about it?? u gotta stop, so what if it wont get anywhere, at least they tried, at least they tried to make a difference in the world, and if thats all they can do is try, then thats fine. how many of u have the power to go try to make a difference?? not many, but they are using themselves as celebrities, to take one step further in doing something they beleive in. and exactly how many of u would do that??
