That's not why I'm disappointed-- I'm disappointed because everybody else agreed that it was a good question. And now I feel as if my opinion does count anymore, and that the others who aren't here anymore are going to be disappointed too because they thought it was going to be on there.

It is not that your opinion doesn't count. If you post your opinions on questions then your opinion counts. It is the people who dont post and bitch later whos opinions don't count. I didn't read the ENTIRETY of this thread, so who else agreed? If enough people can see that the majority of posters agreed with that question then I don't see why it shouldn't be posted, but right now it seems as though the majority of people are against asking that,

I wanted to get involved with this from the beginning, but I had to step out for the evening and didnt get home til now.

I like it because each member can probably give a different answer

but it may be a little to broad. they'll probably take forever to come up with an answer and then just say fuck it and write down some lyric

Look, you guys need to keep fair about it. The people that agreed earlier voiced their opinions then, and the people against now weren't around then to disagree. The reason this process is being left open for a couple of days is so that people from all over can leave their input, which is happening with the people who are just coming online now. The group that was here before was able to make decisions by voting then, I dont see why that can't be done now. Just vote with people here now as to whether it should stay or go.

Tell us about the process you use to write a song. Do you write lyrics without a melody in mind and throw them out to the group to come up with the melody, or do you write lyrics to fit existing music? And what parts of the process are done individually and what parts as a group?

Are you trying to prepare yourselves mentally and emotionally for the response to your next album? No matter how wonderful it is, you're going to be ripped to shreds because (1) it's different from "American Idiot", or because (2) it's similar to "American Idiot." In other words, by making a masterpiece of rock (AI), you've put yourselves in an almost no-win situation with the following album.

I think we compromised the two questions with the way i suggested to change it's wording which was

It's asks the same things, of both albums, and also suggests to them that we'd like to know if there are any similiarites in the two situations.

I like how thats worded, because its not just directed at every single detail towards Insomniac, it mentions it to bring up the idea of comparison, but then it also could give us hindsight to the future and what their plan may be.

Gah, I dunno... I guess I don't really have any strong feelings about that question either way.

2 and 3 are good 4 is borderline tolerable

1 I dont like- it's a rule of thumb that you dont really ask how parents raise their children

5 I dont like because what is Billie really gonna say? I hate them fuck them or whatever. not very satisfying answers
