**nobodylikesyou**
[ Current List:Dont like---"What advice would you give to some one who is coping with a loss of their loved one?" (too general anyone can answer that) He is gonna say write a song about it.---"Are you trying to prepare yourselves mentally and emotionally for the next chapter of Green Day? Out there will probably be a lot of debate going on saying t's too different from American Idiot, or too similar. In other words, AI was obviously an amazing album - do you think you've put yourself in a hard position for what's to come next?"(They haven't written it yet so they don't know.)Wording this one with the American Idiot question:---'When you were recording Dookie, you were still a band unknown to the mainstream. After Dookie became a giant success, you guys recorded Insomniac. Was it different to record Insomniac compared to Dookie, because you were known and successfull as a band now? Why?'OR [reworded differently]:---"Was the mindset while making Insomniac different becuase you had notoriety compared to making dookie where you had the freedom to not worry about success?"(Dont know why we don't ask this of right here right now as they are going thru that after AI.)---"What are your favorite memories in your rock 'n' roll career?"(Milton Keynes will probably be the answer to this one)Like these two ok.---"If you could tour with any band, past or present, who would it be?"---"What type of nervous/bad habits do you guys have? Any little antics you have that drive the other guys crazy?"See below---"There has been a lot of rumours going around about Green Day-- whether it's from one of you dying, or you guys breaking up-- which ones do you think are the craziest? How did you react when you first read/heard about them?" I would like to tie this into have they ever googled themselves and found out any interesting things they didnt know about themselves. stablesoulsgonebad
That's not why I'm disappointed-- I'm disappointed because everybody else agreed that it was a good question. And now I feel as if my opinion does count anymore, and that the others who aren't here anymore are going to be disappointed too because they thought it was going to be on there. It is not that your opinion doesn't count. If you post your opinions on questions then your opinion counts. It is the people who dont post and bitch later whos opinions don't count. I didn't read the ENTIRETY of this thread, so who else agreed? If enough people can see that the majority of posters agreed with that question then I don't see why it shouldn't be posted, but right now it seems as though the majority of people are against asking that,
spark in the night
if that third sentence was directed to me, im sorryI wanted to get involved with this from the beginning, but I had to step out for the evening and didnt get home til now.maybe spark in the night can give me her opinion on this question no one else is .. . .whats the most meaningful lyric youve ever heard/written (to all the guys)I like it because each member can probably give a different answerbut it may be a little to broad. they'll probably take forever to come up with an answer and then just say fuck it and write down some lyricor I could be totally wrong. maybe they'll like itI think we can make it more specific by having it be a Green Day lyric
Fuzz
Look, you guys need to keep fair about it. The people that agreed earlier voiced their opinions then, and the people against now weren't around then to disagree. The reason this process is being left open for a couple of days is so that people from all over can leave their input, which is happening with the people who are just coming online now. The group that was here before was able to make decisions by voting then, I dont see why that can't be done now. Just vote with people here now as to whether it should stay or go. basketcase15
I just.. I really.. would be so fucking disappointed, I mean, that was the first question anybody agreed on, and then now everybody wants it off =(Here's the current list:---"What advice would you give to some one who is coping with a loss of their loved one?"---"Dookie and American Idiot have been the most popular of all your albums. Do you guys ever feel any pressure in writing (both now and when you did Insomniac) like you have to do something to out-do your previous albums?”---"What type of nervous/bad habits do you guys have? Any little antics you have that drive the other guys crazy?"---"There has been a lot of rumours going around about Green Day-- whether it's from one of you dying, or you guys breaking up-- which ones do you think are the craziest? How did you react when you first read/heard about them?"***To be discussed*** ---"What are your favorite memories in your rock 'n' roll career?"---"If you could tour with any band, past or present, who would it be?"it may just be me, but i think that the last question on that list seems boring :/
**nobodylikesyou**
Tell us about the process you use to write a song. Do you write lyrics without a melody in mind and throw them out to the group to come up with the melody, or do you write lyrics to fit existing music? And what parts of the process are done individually and what parts as a group? He has answered this on the NY Times InterviewI like these threeWill you try to really describe what it feels like (both physically and emotionally) to perform in front of an audience of many thousands who literally adore you and the music you make? Have you googled yourself online, and what kinds of surprises did you get when you got the results? Are you trying to prepare yourselves mentally and emotionally for the response to your next album? No matter how wonderful it is, you're going to be ripped to shreds because (1) it's different from "American Idiot", or because (2) it's similar to "American Idiot." In other words, by making a masterpiece of rock (AI), you've put yourselves in an almost no-win situation with the following album.I think this can be addressed by asking" How they you going to try and top that? (American Idiot) or do you nott worry about that? Or by asking them How did you guys approach making Insomniac after the success of Dookie and will you do the same in approaching a this one after AI? How is that different than how you approached Kerplunk for example?

I just dont see why we would need to ask questions about albums that are so old in the past. If we're gonna talk about music then we should talk about the present and the future.gah! I dont know, this is so frustrating

Fuzz
I think we compromised the two questions with the way i suggested to change it's wording which was"Dookie and American Idiot have been the most popular of all your albums. Do you guys ever feel any pressure in writing (both now and when you did Insomniac) like you have to do something to out-do your previous albums?”"It's asks the same things, of both albums, and also suggests to them that we'd like to know if there are any similiarites in the two situations. spark in the night
ok yeah I like how thats worded, because its not just directed at every single detail towards Insomniac, it mentions it to bring up the idea of comparison, but then it also could give us hindsight to the future and what their plan may be. I like that better
Beej
Kelsey, I totally agree with the point you brought up, although I really like the way Andres worded the question because even though it addresses a past album, Dookie, it also applies to what's going on right now. Gah, I dunno... I guess I don't really have any strong feelings about that question either way.Whoops, you pretty much just said that.
Vanessa
Here are my opinions on each of those.---"What advice would you give to some one who is coping with a loss of their loved one?"I think we should leave out this one. i mean you could ask that to anyone whos had that happen to them.---"Dookie and American Idiot have been the most popular of all your albums. Do you guys ever feel any pressure in writing (both now and when you did Insomniac) like you have to do something to out-do your previous albums?”I like this one. I say keep it.---"What type of nervous/bad habits do you guys have? Any little antics you have that drive the other guys crazy?"I love this question ---"There has been a lot of rumours going around about Green Day-- whether it's from one of you dying, or you guys breaking up-- which ones do you think are the craziest? mistress
my picks:1- Do you have any restrictions as far as what your kids can listen to in terms of your own music? (I'll add to that: or to anyone else's music?)2- if you could meet any one person in history, no matter what they were known for, who would it be?3- do any of you have any unusual hidden talents? i mean, like, wiggle your ears, touch your nose with your tongue...that kind of stuff?4- if you were a homeless guy, what would your sign say? ( I love this one)5- What do you think about all of the 11-year-olds that think you're hot and don't know that you're old enough to be their fathers? And how is it frustrating not having your privacy anymore?Do you visit your fansites often? If so, how often and what do you think of all that stuff about yourselves?Have you ever been frightened by a fan or fans and why? What was the worst experience you have had at gig and why?How do you handle the pressures of being in a different city everyday for two years, being away from family and friends, being expected to be at the top of your game each and everyday by all your fans, and appearances, interviews, award ceremonies etc. It seems like it would be more than one could handle. What are things you enjoy that your fans do and on the flipside what can you not stand that your fans do?I think they would get a kick out of these......What do you say at the end of Hitchin a ride? What are the names of the three KLAX songs?
