Green Day GDA Q&A

Well thats just Green Day. Just because they can right some strong serious music doesn't mean thats how they act all the time. Watch any interview and they're always fucking around.

I suppose; it's just, you'd think they'd put more of an effort in to it. Mike's ones were always deadly though

hahaha

I loved the videos and when he went off on a tangent about how they saved and saved and saved in the beginning. As soon as he said: "Ok, ok, I'm just gonna tell you everything from the beginning" you knew you were in for a long treat :D

I think a question about Blue, while I guess it wouldn't be pointless (there would be a single definitive answer for everyone), would be something of a waste. We should use the questions for something insightful and quite possibly weird...Anyway, I'm not certain whether I heard this on Driven or if it was in a biography (or both), but I thought Blue was originally owned by one of Billie's dad's bandmates/musician friends who gave it to him and in turn he gave it to Billie on one his earlier birthdays.

About the questions, I'm glad that GDA seems to be so well linked to the band itself. This a great chance for people like myself who aren't members of the Idiot Club to interact with the band!

-Do you have any intentions of continuing with your side bands in the future?

-Do you attempt to keep up with the news when you're on tour or is it something you forfeit as you're on the road so much?

Didn't Billie get Blue from his Dad three days before he died? =\ That's what the New York interview said.

Anyway.

I'd ask them, "What was your first thought when everybody at Gilman ditched you when you went mainstream?" To all of them. I really would like to know =\ It'd be harsh to go through all of that shit.

Yeah, thats what I'll do tomorrow. I'll go through and pick all the best ones so far, post them all and then let you guys decide which we should keep

Me and Courtney are coming up with the other 5. We aren't 100% sure what they are yet. We're going to wait till we get the 5 from this group first, so we know what they want to ask, and then we'll come up with ours. I want to ask mainly about what the band is doing now and what they are planning. So stuff like that, and if we think of anything else we'll ask. We aren't going to post our questions are until we post up the actual Q&A on gda.

thats what I thought but you didnt explain that when you started the thread.

I would have had to question your sanity if you`d posted about this on the main site. shesh! can you imagine the crap you would have got in your in box?

wtf? wouldnt have been any where close!

any chance of people getting chance to guess the answers to the five forum picked questions before you post the official answers? I was thinking of doing this on the IC. ask people what they would ask and see if we already know the answers. (save people asking things we already know about and save the band repeating themselves yet again)

1) when i watch interviews from the dookie era and then watch the video clips from decades rock live with elvis costello, i feel that billie joe armstrong has matured into a whole new person. in earlier interviews you said that you would like to grow, but not grow up. are there any moments in your lives that you felt that you've grown up, become a grown up/real "adult"?

2) the songs from 1039 smoothed out slappy hours have some pretty nice guitar solos in them. what happened to the solos? why did they disappear with dookie? (although they did come back with american idiot..)

3) would you like your children to become musicians just like you guys? if they grew up to be just like you, would you be supportive, or would you want them to do some things differently?

aaaaand i cant think of any more.

PS) not really a question, but tell them to tour more places around the world, like korea, which is where im from, or bulgaria, which is where i live right now... punk bands never go anywhere new. they should really tour a lot more countries, bcz theyve got fans everywhere...

Down in 89 they played a few songs that are to this day known to fans just as ''Unknown Songs". Are those their own stuff or covers, what are the names of those songs and why didn't they recorded those in the studio?

*points*

Hahahaha, "Have you guys ever googled yourselves?"...that's a winner, right there. :D

haha yeah i like that one, they should ask it you know just for joke

Ask why we barely can tell any difference between their shows during the AI tour, it always annoyed me that they didn't trouble to be more spontaneous seeing I'm sure they're able to do so. Or something like that.

yeah definitely something like that

i have some more

1. What do you think about fans who are trying to look like their idols, like you for instance. Is that flattery or do you think that's awkward and just shows the lack of personality?

2. Do you think you'll ever again record a cover for an album, and if you do what song(s) would it be?

Well tomorrow I'll be posting about a dozen or two of all the questions posted that I think should be carried on. And then people can decide which they want too keep, at the same time people who think one question is too similiar to one already asked can say so, so that none of those get by.

1.) Do you guys interact as friends (like visitng each others homes or just having casual conversations) out side of the studio or off tour?

2.) Who decides what you wear on tour? If its not one of you, do you like the outifts others pick out for you?

I would like either one of my questions to be picked!

"What was your best and worst experience with drugs and alcohol"

or

"Describe your family."

Ok, I thought about it a lot and here they are...The 3rd one is really important to me, so I'd apreciate if it's considered.

1.To Billie Joe: When was the exact moment you realized Green Day was going to be your life?

2.If you have to choose 1 song that describes all you’ve been through these last 17 years, what would it be?

3.To Billie Joe: What’s the meaning you give to the song “Good Riddance” and what inspired you to write such an amazing song and how do you feel when you sing it?

4.Do you think you’ll be still making music for the rest of your life? Why?

---Directed to all of them---

1) Does any of your family listen to you?

2) When you go grocery shopping or things like that, do you think twice about going out, do you think about people taking your picture or asking for autographs?

3) When you go out on tour, will you play more stuff from 39/smooth and kerplunk? you have just seemed to not play any of those songs for a long time

4) What are some of the worst rumors or funniest you've heard about you?

some are personal, and some aren't, i like em' :)

To the band: Have you ever had any awkward situations between the three of you?

To the band: If one of your bandmembers died, do you think you would still be able to go on with the band?
