Green Day GDA Q&A

I think that we should ask them about their older stuff or things that we don't know about. A question that I wanted to know was do they still keep in touch with John Kiffmeyer and do they like what he did for the band in the early days, like did they think it helped get them started. And I think that we should ask them this question: After the success of Dookie, were you frightened about making a new record, and if it would satisfy people as much as Dookie did?

Why would you want to know about that then, (he has already answered that before) when that is exactly what they are facing now after American Idiot? Unlike some of us, they live in the present.

what did it feel like to play your very first gig?

whats it like to play infront of 1000s of people?

tre, if larry livermore had never asked you to join the lookouts, would you ever learn to play drums?

just a reminder to everyone (especially the people who dont like them because they sold out).

They didn't even KNOW dookie was going to blow up the way it did, and the reason they signed in the first place was because they were eating MICROWAVED BURRITOS EVERY DAY (or so I'v heard), and ya know what? every single person out there (except for a few psychos) would sign with a major label if they were in desperation for money - besides, the point of music is for people to hear it, so if you want to have your message heard, HOW do you do that? by signing with a major label.

im not saying i like major labels and they way they always do things so unrealistically (sealed off from the public, almost like a prisoner of a different world unless they are on stage and decide to try to escape it with a stage dive), im just saying put yourself in their (really cool) shoes (doc martins, vans, or high tops)

oh i just came with another one (yay for me)

Down in 89 they played a few songs that are to this day known to fans just as ''Unknown Songs". Are those their own stuff or covers, what are the names of those songs and why didn't they recorded those in the studio?

God, you don't know how much i'd apreciate if you asked this

I mean AI is just as big as Dookie, so why wouldnt you ask the question relating to now. For example...

After the huge success of American Idiiot, are you frightened about making a new record, and worrying if it will satisfy people as much as American Idiot did?

**Although we all know he will say, we write music for ourselves, and if other people like it great if they dont then who cares.

Yay! :D

1. How do you guys feel about the whole "teenie" and "teenybopper" stereotyping? That's goes around especially on the internet? Older fans will label the younger fans as a "teenie"

2. If the other band did not steal the cover of your original album, do you think you would have gotten as far as you did?

3. Do you think that a lot of fans had turned their back on you when you made the American Idiot album?

4. Have you guys thought about the new album? Do you think you're going to make a story line like you did with American Idiot?

5. Why doesn't Mike wear any eyeliner?

:P

Green Day is aweeeeessssooommmmeeeeeee!!!!!

Lol i couldn't think of anything better for the 5th question. But I've always wondered.

Guest Star Named Sun

if that's the only input you have, what are you doing here?

Seriously, they don't have to do this, and you want them to end up defending themselves?

You know, sometimes when people get all bigheaded all they need is a good slap to get them back on the ground. I saw that happened with many bands and I hope BJ will get his slap pretty soon

Oh, I get it now. But that wasn't a question I made, it was just one that I saw and it sounded good.

Someones having a bad day. Seriously if you went to any of their shows last yr then you already know that the performances they put on were not second hand. I think Billie already answered your question in walking contradiction.

I did went to their show and i watched every available video from AI tour - they're shows as redundunt as it could be, same set list for 2 years? gimme a break

This really doesn't belong here. Stop trying to cause crap in yet another thread.

Am I missing something, because I haven't noticed a huge change in Billie Joe that would be cause for him to need a slap. I actually think they are one of the few bands that don't think they are all that.

ask Billie what exactly he says at the end of Hitchin a ride?

alright- here are my questions...

1. this is for all of them- do you ever worry about your kids finding one of these sites? i don't know why but maybe you wouldn't for some reason. i was just thinking

2. Does it get annoying having people notice you when you are going out and doing something normal- like i don't know- grocery shopping with your family or something? i mean- not by like how do i say 'real fans' the ones that would leave you alone, but the 'teenie' fans who would mob you and scream and just make a giant spectacle of it and then would never leave you alone

3. i have always wondered this- what are your favorite bands?

thats it for now- i can't think of more... so i will probably post more...

Redundant doesn't mean they are second hand. :bored:

To *lacey* ^ Number three has been answered many times.

I still want to ask what it feels like to be on the covers of Bop and Tiger Beat. xP

we should get back on track and start making questions, so we can all have a good 5 questions to ask them when the time comes. :)

1. Billie, when writing new songs, do you ever try to connect with past songs or lyrics as to try to piece together a life long story?

2. how do you feel to see yourself 16 years later, on top of the world. You guys have earned so much respect. From being seen as bratty punk kids to being on the frontlines sending an urgent message to the world, is this overwhelming to you?

3. how many tattoos on you did you count? (directed to both Mike and Billie)

:)

"because of American Idiot's success and the step up to the big boys circle, do you think Green Day will ever get to play small arenas or even go on Warped tour again?"

Whoa thats pretty awesome....

I guess i'd ask what Billie says at the end of Hitchin a Ride, like that other guy said.

Umm what else....

Oh ok i got a few

1. (For Billie Joe): Do you think that if whoever gave you Blue, DIDN'T give you Blue, would you have started Sweet Children/Green Day?

2. If you could take back one thing that you did in your life or change it, what would it be and why? (for all of them)

3. What would you have done with your life if you hadn't formed into a band? (for each of them)

yeah those are my lame excuses for questions....

Wow, cool - who is gunna come up with the other 5 questions?

You could ask Billie - "How many copies of Blue do you have, and where is the original blue, do you still play it on stage?" (I know thats like 3 questions, but it's all on the same thing so...anyway I think we should try and squeeze in as many as possible :D)

errr.... "What is your favourite venue to play in?" - thats crap

"Will we ever get the chance to see the footage of Milton Keynes that wasn't included in Bullet in a bible?"

"If you could work with one artist/band dead or alive who would it be?"

"What made you decide to stick mainly with the same setlist throughout the AI tour?"

"Do you plan to re-record 39/smooth or Kerplunk?"

"Whats Happening with the AI movie? any info/ideas you could tell us?"

"How does it feel to have such a large/varied/devoted fanbase?"

"I heard that you know the network....any chance in them making a new album?"

meh....I'm not good at thinking of questions :/ I need more time to think :)
