Parley
Well, now that I understand you're talking about appreciation, not the giveaway prize - I have to say I agree. Yes, there are other fan sites out there.. though I'm not sure about 'thousands' of them. But I think GDA definitely qualifies as the best unofficial Green Day website. That being said, a thank you for all the hard work would have been nice. Thank you for saying that. I didn't even enter the contest because I knew there were lots of other people who would treasure an autographed picture more than I would. I'm not looking for any free merchandise from Green Day. I just think it would've been a nice gesture on their part to recognize the best fan website devoted to them.
nessa1416
If I had an entire site dedicated to me, I would probably try and put in a little effort to let them know that the support is apretiated :/
Hybrid Meteora
Oh,I know what you mean now. It would have been good to get a little appreciation. All that work you guys put into the site. GDA is the best site about green day out there, beats the offical one. Even a little "Thank you"would have been good.
~tamara~
I don't buy the whole "domino" effect. Not one bit. I remember a while back some site (i can't remember which one. greendayvideos maybe?) that had a little message from Billie that they got from him somehow.Man, I didn't expect that from them, I mean, you're the best fuckin' Green Day site I've ever seen, they should be very proud to have such an awsome site about them, you give so much to make this site perfect, and they give nothing for you... (they give it to another fuckin site)... But you know, they do have their own lives, maby they didn't know it was your 5th aniversary so that's why they didn't send you anything, if the knew, then they would probably sent you something... :/

Fuzz
Alright, look. I know they get bugged for stuff, that’s why i bother them for as little as possible. I hardly ever talk to their manager because I hate feeling like I'm asking for stuff from them. As Parley said, everything we do it's because we love the band. I love working on GDA and I love doing stuff for their fans. That’s why I started visiting GDA in the first place, because it was by fans for fans - and I liked that. So now that I work here I do as much as I can for the fans because I know how much I liked that. I don't like when people bug Green Day. I'm sure they get so many requests for so many things that it's exhausting. That said, look at GDA compared to any other Green Day website. Official or non official - no other site provides so much for their fans. And while we do it for the love of Green Day and their fans - it's kind of disheartening that I work as hard as I do with little to no recognition for who it's actually helping - the band. Yes, the band has said they liked what we do, yes we know the band knows about GDA they told Courtney that a couple years ago. The only problem with that is I've never heard it from them. Their tour manager ,videographer, and their manager and all said they really like our site and appreciate all our work, but never from Green Day. I've never even got to talk to any of them. I stood about 2 feet away from Tré and he left before I got to shake his hand. So I don’t like expecting anything from the band. Their music is what keeps me going. But for being the largest gather point for their fans online - we get very little back from them aside from a simple thanks (which does mean a lot still). I'm not saying I want them to send their thanks each week, or to send us something at all. Because i won't be heartbroken over that. Honestly, as much as I would like a “thanks” or “congratulations for 5 years”, I would much rather have something that other fans can benefit from. That’s why I’m really against the Idiot Club. That’s why I try to offer as much as I can on GDA for everyone. But that has it's downfalls because then people start expecting stuff from us, and then I can kind of understand Green day's position. Parley
I don't think she's talking about something to giveaway for people. She's talking about something for GDA. A "thanks" or something.Honestly, Court and I were kind of hoping for something, but we didn't get anything and we were kind of dissappointed. But oh well. I don't like asking or expecting anything other than their music.Read the above. The manager didn't send it.

xagirlcalledkillx
Now i'd just like to say that i have no disrespect intended at all, and i'm not TRYING to sound rude or anything. But frankly, i think we should be happy that we even got anything. I mean, Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre; they all have lives and families. Lives that need to be tended to. Yes, it would have been nice if they did contribute something personally, but i think they're doing the best they can. You can't scrutinize Green Day when you have absolutely no clue what their lives are like. Maybe some of them are going through a tough time, or maybe they're back in the studio trying to come up with a new album. Or maybe even working on the American Idiot movie. You just don't know.
