Scott Ian rules all... that's cool they like them. I've always thought that even if you didn't like their music, one look at them on stage and you'd have to have respect for them as a band just because they really can 'fucking play'. They have the rock and roll spirit, and you'd be crazy if you thought different.

well like armatageshanks said in his post, scott ian is from the band anthrax and ted nugent is way famous, and there's this show on vh1 called Super Group with them and 3 other metal musicians. on today's episode the manager guy had rob cavallo call up to tell them their song sucked, and they talked about green day for a second since that's the band rob is most well-known for producing for. (and damnocracy is the name of the super group)

before i thought ted nugent was just an asshole, but watching that show he actually seems pretty nice. even though i dont agree with him on lots of things. my dads a hunter and a big conservative, and i hate guns, but it doesnt really make a difference. you know?

The first time I heard GD live - on a radio-broadcast gig - all I knew about them was their name, but I thought 'this is a shit-hot live act' - all by myself, without the benefit of Ted Nugent's seal of approval!

I think only a dead person wouldn't notice how great GD are live, or that they can fucking play in general. These guys just never took any heed until AI rocked the globe and woke them out of their comas; also has to be said, what else are they going to say to Rob Cavallo ?!

Remember the crap Ted Nugent talked about GD after Billie Joe's reaction to the idea of working with him was to burst out laughing ? I'll remind you - 'Their social ignorance, their historical vacuity and their knee-jerk condemnation of American things and the Bush administration is nothing short of embarassing' - the fact that he belatedly adds 'but they can fucking play' means little to me.

So what does he think they are - some kind of (American) idiots savant - 'never learned to read or write so well, but he could play a guitar just like a-ringin' a bell?'!

Ok, for anyone not familiar, that last quote concerns a guy from Louisiana by the name of Johnny B. Goode . I'm not sure what Ted Nugent thinks about him! :)

He didn't actually say it to Rob Cavallo, they told them they were going to play their demo for Rob and Ted asked who Rob was and he was told he produces GD and then he looked impressed and said those mfer's can play.
