Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick something would be funny.

'Who Are You' by The Who could be fun.

I have always wanted to hear Billie Joe sing 'Revolution' by The Beatles. Every time I listen to it, I can imagine him singing it.

I'm totally imagining that now, mm hmm, sounds very good. I think most Beatles songs would sound fantastic covered by Green Day, Billie's voice would be just right for it. In fact, judging by Foxboro Hot Tubs, almost any 60's song would be brilliant

Yes I agree, I think 'Help' would also sound great by them. In 'Revolution' I almost think Billie is singing this line; But when you want money

for people with minds that hate  It sounds just like him!

Ya know, only they could get away w/ something like that... And it's Rick Astley...

I want them to do 'Rock This Town' by The Stray Cats. It would be absolutely the smeg. Mike could tear that bass part up.

Pretty much any Ramones song, of course. Pinhead would rock, that's my favorite.

I dunno, any song that would be 'unexpected' out of them to perform in concert. That would be interesting. They could probably rock out w/ 'Hangin' Tough' Who knows? There's nothing they can't do. :D

Oh, absolutely! Wow, yeah. His voice would fit that beautifully, that makes me excited lol Here's to hoping.

They shouldn't cover any damn songs. They have too many of their own.

Also, whoever said Green Day should get Rickrolled is cool.

How to save a life by the fray, I wanna be sedated by the ramones, if it hasn't been done. They are big Ramones fans... I can't think of more, but I know that I could...

im thinking that anything by MCR or FOB or any of these new bands would sound terrible.

billie's voice + new-ish band's songs = garbage.

but 1,000% yes to the beatles. anything by the beatles really. both bands have that clear pure voice that would fit melodic music easily, unlike the bands of 2005-2008.

i would say... thnx 4 th mmrys by fob. :D

You disgust me.

I don't want them to cover anything.

They have the potential to ruin a perfectly good song, and well some songs would just sound horrific.

Dunno if you've seen this before or not, but they've played Teenage Lobotomy and Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones -

Well, I think they should do a studio/non-live version of Surrender by Cheap Trick, Hurray For Me by Bad Religion, The Money Will Roll Right In by Fang, Gilman Street by The Mr. T Experience, and Unity by Operation Ivy. I think they should stick with their own music, because Green Day is pretty original.

As a joke only... "I Touch Myself", "Like a Virgin", "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" or "They're Coming to Take Me Away (HA HA)". IF they were to do a cover, I think it'd be interesting for them to do "Everlong" by Foo Fighters or evern "I Alone" by Live but add their own twist to it.

Well, see, they DO do covers. They do them in concert, mainly, yeah? So that's the point of this thread. Of course they have PLENTY of songs of their own, but covers are fun stuff, as far as I'm concerned...

And I'd love to hear them do Mickey/Tony Basil lol suuuuhweet... but Rock This Town would still rock harder...
