No. Fuck is a word. Like Hello and Hey-oh. People who are sensitive to thge word Fuck are what most people call 'idiots'. Also, it gets the point across.

It's like boobs. What's there to get icky about? they're boobs.

My parents, thankfully aren't too stirct on that.

Oh, and at-fucking-least they're fucking not fucking swearing fucking in fucking every fucking other fucking word fucking like fucking this fucking one. Now, that would suck.

1- letter from parent to Billie

2- Billie's response

You're the 3rd person to post that here.

Being able to swear is a form of freedom but so would be dressing up like a chicken. I don't mean to compare Greenday to chickens but some songs call for it and some don't. Take boulevard of broken dreams. How many times did he swear in it?

Bottom line, they've shown they have artistic freedom to show their emotions. they shouldn't swear just for swearing's sake and to show they have the freedom

Just my humble opinion

There are more creative ways of getting your point across than just lacing it with obsecenities, but sometimes it is required.

hmmm, let me think about that...no

Fuck no they should be able to say whatever they want. If you have a problem with swearing then maybe green day isnt for you

I couldn't give a shit... I really couldn't.

for fuck's sake.

Nobody cares.

My 'rents have always been cool about me getting CDs with swearing on. As long as I don't swear too much myself it's okay. I think it's a really good attitude to have towards swearing on songs.

I hope no... but I don't care!!!!

swearing is part of everyday language so why should they change that

I agree that you should not cuss all the time or as everyday use, but some people are to sensitive when It does happen to come around, no matter where you go, what you listen to, watch etc it going to come up sooner or later, if you don’t like it stay away from it, I have been accused of it by my family, but then again all they do is just go using or saying it themselves that messed up

People that are stupid enough to buy green days shitty albums should either accept the bands lyrics or just don't buy the shitty albums. My point is that green day shouldn't become even worse by listening to some stupid 11-year old punks and their obese soccermoms

I don't like swearing at all, it doesn't make you cool, so yes, they should limit their swearing.

Posted

Never! As someone else said, "Freedom of speech!" Besides...if you wrote a letter to them saying "I think you should limit your swear words in your music," do you think they would?

Posted

if someone is offended by it, then they don't need to be listening to it.

its says partenal advisory on the cd, so if they don't want their kids to hear it, don't buy them the cd.

Posted

yes, it deeply offends me

Posted

If they limit their swearing because they want to do so I think it's OK (though i think their "fuck" sound cool)

But if they stop to swear because they want to satisfy parents or producers... Then it would be pathetic...

Posted

No because they wouldn't be Green Day without the profanity.

(totally true) Look, Hell no! They are only trying to show people the world isnt all about expensive jewelery (bling)and those cars that bounce all the time. They're saying that the world is becoming a scary place now. People need to realize that and to get people's attention cussing is the way to go. Ps.Before parents buy a frickin cd they know nothin about, maybe they should do a little research on it first...

Posted

bloody fucking hell no

Posted

word^^^! As for some parent they buy those albums for their kids or let them buy it w/ the cussing on it and then complain? what the heck is up w/ that ? thats stupid for who the parents that are like that!

Posted

I don't think they should limit the cursing. They are expressing emotion. Plus, I always say it adds "spice"to their lyrics. If you know what I mean.

Lets see:

Sign to a major label and let them tell us what to do - Check.

Make ourselves sound and look like every other pop band out there - Check

Drop our former fanbase and trade for a million 11 year old hot topic poser chicks - Check

The only thing that is left is for them to bow down to the FCC and suck their collective cock, so what's stopping them?

all i can say about those ppl are they need to notice the big fat ugly

PARENTAL ADVISORY
