i don't care.

GD has always been a band who swears a lot. just cuz they're more popular now and very young kids like them doesn't mean they should stop what they've always done.

but still, i don't care.

I've read a lot of reviews online from parents who have purchased a Green Day CD for their kid (17 and under), and most of them complain about their excessive use of the f-word in their songs and how their kid is oftenly using the word. Do you think Green Day should limit their swearing?

I bet 90 % of those use the fword 1 or 2 time in front of their kids

If Green Day wants to cuzz as much as they do...let them do it...It's just a way of expressing themselves...which makes them uber rad and unique

i say fuck the parents who are su stupid that they dont know that their kids are saying that stuff anyways. my 8-year-old sister has every brittany spears album ever, and i bought my american idiot CD and my mom and i were listening to it in the car. my sister listens to american idiot every so often, so i think that its stupid, im not 18 (if you didnt notice) and my friends and i say fuck more than green day do. so fuck all the idiot parents who are idiots.

17 And under? My mum doesnt care. She listens to American Idiot in the car when my brother is listening.

I don't think they swear enough in American Idiot, I think they have just tried to limit it to not get as many complaints. But I still love American Idiot.

Supressing cuss words is a form of censorship, and censorship is evil. So no, I don't think they should limit thier swearing.

I don't think they swear enough. Censorship sucks, we're supposed to be allowed to say what we want to say.. and if the parents don't like it, then don't buy your kid the album.

hmm.. maybe thats why there's a parental advisory sticker on it ay?

anyway, they are an American band. Americans have freedom of speech, press, and so on.

They shouldnt have to just to suit the parents of a wider audience

I honestly think parents should notice the parental advisory label on the CD; they should also acknowledge that the members of Green Day are full grown men and can swear as much as they want. It's also a free country.

People are so stupid...there was this one review a woman gave saying she's going to sue Green Day for teaching her kids foul language. :D

Agree! Really how stupid some people are, its not the artist fault they are not saying you have to buy their cd/album and listen to it they are not forcing to or not to buy it, it really the parent of kids 17- under faults if a thing like that w/ cussing and other content of that matter gets in their hands btw suing someone cause they cussed on a CD , that sounds stupid you cant take away someone freedom of speech, or say you cant say this or that and btw it not just music that has explicative content in them movies have them so TV shows have them video games no difference really. The kids hear swear words at school and maybe even by other family members!

I do not think that they swear too much at all, i have albums that are far more profound than them. They do swear lots at concerts but too bad. Parents banning kids from hearing that stuff doesn't work they swear anyway. I personally think that people have more important things to complain about than a little swearing.
