I've read a lot of reviews online from parents who have purchased a Green Day CD for their kid (17 and under), and most of them complain about their excessive use of the f-word in their songs and how their kid is oftenly using the word. Do you think Green Day should limit their swearing?

No, they shouldn't limit their swearing. If the parents don't like it then they can just take away the kid's cd, or punish them if they use the word. Green Day shouldn't have to have a boundary on what they can or can't write down. Besides, they're all adults, they can curse without getting in trouble...

You're absolutely right. I totally agree.

Can't they notice the parental advisory label?

They're words, just words. People are too sensative, and need to realise not everyone talks like the Brady bunch.

i know...people get so pissed because they buy an album for the kid and there is a good sized Label right there. My parents won't let me HAVE the flippin' cd because of the label

I honestly think parents should notice the parental advisory label on the CD; they should also acknowledge that the members of Green Day are full grown men and can swear as much as they want. It's also a free country.

People are so stupid...there was this one review a woman gave saying she's going to sue Green Day for teaching her kids foul language. :D

Boom. So uhh.. there's my answer, I don't think that they should do it because they obviously don't care and neither do I. They write songs because they enjoy what they do and they're not going to limit the swearing so that 9 year olds can listen to it, and they've said it before.. if people want to buy the record, than they can but they're not going to force anyone to listen to it.

 Haha!! I say they keep it up on the swearing.

The more they swear or go against the US authority the farther it will get them away from a shity "kidz bop"

or girly magazines.

:bored:  no. ^ someone said before, it's freedom of speech. anyway, swearing gets your point across. like ugh....oh yeah:

'so god bless you FUCKING past.." ---Too Much Too Soon

well then the parents shouldnt let them listen to it if they think its bad i mean do they not notice the parental advisory sticker? but why should they limit their swearing just for the stupid parents that are oblivious to the fact that their kid already knows those words anyway. its Green Day's music so they should be able to say what they want.

honestly some people are fucked in the head. seriously

How about this:

When rappers start limiting their cursing, Green Day can start limiting theirs too.

Eminem's "Shake That:"

Get buzzed, get drunk, get crunked, get fucked up

Hit the strip club don't forget ones get your dick rubbed

Get fucked, get sucked, get wasted, shit faceted

Pasted, blasted, puke drink up, get a new drink

Hit the bathroom sink, throw up

Wipe your shoe clean, got a routine goin'

Still got a few chunks on them shoestring showin'

I was dehydrated till the beat vibrated

I was revibed as soon as this bitch gyrated

Them hips and licked them lips and that was it

I had to get Nate Dogg here to sing some shit

6 words.

Green Day's "American Idiot:"

Don't wanna be an American Idiot

Don't want a nation under the new mania

Hey can you hear the sound of hysteria?

The subliminal mind fuck America

Welcome to a new kind of tension

All across the alien-nation

Everything isn't meant to be okay

Television Dreams of tomorrow

We're not the one's who are meant to follow

For that's enough to argue

1 word.

Now, When Eminem can limit his "shit-faced dick-rubbing" song down to 2 cuss words, then maybe, JUST MAYBE, I'll consider it appropriate for GD to limit their cursing.
