Did Green Day influence you to start learning an insrument?

i was going to learn guitar when i was like 3 but my dad said i was too young, now that i am older i am learning guitar, but minority, got me back into the swing of really wanting to do it.

i was learning guitar and then i stopped lessons because i didnt want to play guitar. then i saw green day live and i was up in the front of the mosh pit and decided that i wanted to be doing that someday. so i started figuring out how to play guitar. now i am really good.

I already played the piano and a little bit of guitar when I first heard Green Day , but they really inspired me to learn the electric guitar, join a band and write my own songs! I can now play nearly all of their songs by heart - I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a sad obsesseive thing...

i really hope you're joking... billie joe is NOT great guitarist. call me concieted, but I'VE written more challenging songs on the guitar than billie joe has, and i've only been playing since i was 13 or so...

I wanted to play the drums since I was 5 but when I was 11 and heard the Nimrod album all I wanted to do was play the drum beats.

I don''t know if they influenced me completly I mean there are a lot of other bands out there who I admire but I did want to learn to play some of their songs.

back to topic, I picked Guitar a year after Dookie, and Bass and drums soon after. I also was inspired by Mike to play the baseball bat (see credits on Nimrod) Very chalenging instrument, that baseball bat:)
