I started learning guitar because of Green Day but i'm not musically talented so I gave up after a year and a half.....never mind I prefered listening anyway

nope. i already played piano and i already wanted to play guitar before i knew about them.

im really not passionate about playing an instrument like they are though.

edit: but he's defianately my only influence. aside from my guitar teacher i dont really look up to anyone else as being a great guitar player. i know, i know, jimi hendrix & a buncha other guys are good... but i wanna play like billie, not like them. they're boring. and i cant stand the guys who go on 20 minute long geet solos and people worship them. SURE it takes skill, but i dont wanna listen to that crap!! what good is playing that many notes when it makes me wanna chuck your CD out the window?

my parents bought me a classical guitar for christmas when i was 13/14ish, and i just left it in my room for a year, picking it up now and then and strumming open strings. then i heard green day, picked the guitar back up, and started learning.

billie joe is definitely my main influence, in terms of guitar playing, songwriting, and picknig it up in the first place!

i mentioned him in the 'thanks' section of my bands last ep, and i intend to do the same with every cd that i'm involved with until i die.

im gonna try to play bass off of what i learned from cello and violin so my friends and i can start a band , its not going well so far. Mike rocks so hard at what he does, and ever since i even had the thought of playin bass in my own band, ive had the most respect for Mike

my only hope is that we can somehow be half as good as Green Day

yes and no theres many of bands that have inspired me green day being 1 but slipknot i just like how good there guitarists are i wanna be as good as em but i can keep dreaming or drums would be good again been influenced by a few drummers tre being 1 but also joey how good he is and fast so yer

I've always wanted to play an instrument but never really thought about which one. But after seeing Green Day live I understand that I want to learn how to play the guitar and the drums.

I'd like to learn how to play the piano too, but this has nothing to do with Green Day.

Yes, I saw them live and thought how cool it would be to play an instrument..I took bass lessons, still do and love it.

i had already started to learn guitar before i really got into green day a lot. but as i started to know what i was doing a bit more, they were one of my very favorite bands, and i learned a lot of their songs because of that.

Oh, most definitely! Billie Joe inspired me to play guitar, so I'm taking guitar lessons now. But I'll never be as good as him.
