Green Day in teen magazines / Girls mags

they only put posters in a hot celeb, not the talented ones. they only put them in so you get something sexy to put on your walls, and to make you but the magazine.

Same ol' articles in those damn magazines:

-What Billie Joe looks for in a girl

-Green Day: Perfectly Punk

-Green Day...Current Punk Hotties!!! *multiple hearts inserted here*

and so on and so forth...

I only but teen magazines for Green Day posters...then I bring the magazine to school and give my friends the Jesse McCartney and Usher posters...I bought one magazine and it said how Gerard Way and Billie Joe are related

I thought they were stupid when I was a teenie (I listened to Metallica back then though so its undestandable) and I am proud to say my 13 year old daughter doesn't get into them either. I guess Billie can't help he's hot though. Thats why he is in there, if he was ugly we wouldn't have to worry about it. Maybe if he gave up the makeup and suits...

-Misery-, your pictures are kinda creeping me out.... but anyway

ok yeah, i admit i used to buy them. all the time. there's actually a box under my bed loaded with J-14 and Twist. i've stopped, but every once in a while if i see a good poster of Green Day or other bands i buy them. i've always wanted to rip it out and leave, but 1- too chicken :P 2- it'll ruin the poster  but if i had saved all that money instead of buying teenie magazines, i'd be rich

EDIT: i still read teen people and seventeen sometimes....

i bet you guys used to read them. c'mon dont lie.

Yes, I admit I used to read teen magazines when I was around 12 or 13. But I finally acknowledged that teen magazines only provide its readers with false (and stupid) information -- they're a complete waste of money. However, I still buy them that's IF it includes a Green Day/Billie Joe poster in it.

I've looked at one or two in a grocery store, but even there, surrounded by strangers, I felt almost too ashamed to live. I felt like I was betraying the band by reading it, because it's such a vile exploitation of their personal lives. And the worst part is, they make it seem so innocent, almost like the band members authorized the articles. So yeah, reading them makes me want to die.

those magazines are such a wast of time. but its funny how i still buy them just to get a poster. i then graffiti and rip up the rest of the mag. i guess that its a good thing that they only have one real one here in australia then

i dont know why i even really bothrer coz i don't even read the articles in them, not that there are really ever more than on or who, usually about hilary duff or someone like that.

I used to buy them all the time when i was little. Actually, i remember something...it always stuck in my head...there was an article on Nick from Backstreet Boys (i think....this is like eight years ago or something, 1998) and it said something along the lines of, "Nick likes rocks bands including Green Day - some scraggly old us rockers...." or something, and now thinking about that makes me laugh. I mean, this was when Nimrod was just out, i think, so how were they old??? anyway i stopped getting them and now i hardly ever buy any magazine. They're too expensive to buy just for a poster (£2:50 for a bit of paper?) so i rip them out of the ones in the library when no one's looking.

  • 3 weeks later...

Meh. I don't really read magazines but recently I bought Tiger Beat because it had a giant Green Day poster and I needed one so yeah, I bought it.

Once I took out the poster I decided to read it since it had this article called: The Billie Joe Story You Didn't Know! thinking what rumor have they started now? But it was actually just a one page article going on about how BJ's life was hard when he was a teen. They didn't even mention about Dookie or 39/smooth. They just said "fast forward to 2005 when BOBD was constantly playing on radios and MTV..." That was so lame.

And what really, really irritates me is how Pussy McFartney is on every single page... I had to scribble on every picture of him with eyeliner. God,I hate that bitch.

I hate those magasines with the passion. There information is always wrong, and then make a big deal about nothing.I don't even think they know that celebrities are real people too.

I was buying something at a check-out counter and I read the cover of a tabloid magazine and it had a close up of Angelina Jolie's hand saying"ANGELINA HAS BONEY HANDS!?!?!?!" Like wtf.Who Cares

I do buy some for Green Day pictures.and then after taking the pictures put there useless to me.

Why are you guys so shocked that Green Day are in these magazines? Like most media-controlled items, they only sell things that are trendy. Green Day released a hit record and, suddenly, new fans started being attracted to them. It only makes sense that they would be in that type of magazine. They aren't who they used to be, they aren't 'punk rock', they're pop.. and that's exactly what the creators of magazines want.

I like to look through those at the grocery store and have a laugh. Sometimes I buy them if the pictures are cool and then I use the pictures to hang up or make scrapbooks.

Only if they have good decent posters and whatnot of bands will I buy those magazines. Otherwise, the only purpose it serves me is entertainment...the entertainment of stupidity.
