I was more of a metal-head (at the age of 6 wearing pink dresses. Oh the irony..) listening to Marilyn Manson and so on and I thought Green Day was just annoying. But when my cousin gave me Kerplunk! as a birthday gift last year I loved their music, and they've introduced me to Operation Ivy and stuff like that. So in a sense they changed my musical taste.

Nah.

I liked Green Day and blink 182 etc about 7 years ago and basically I heard alice cooper and motley crue and then I just listened to all bands like that about 6 years ago. Twas' a change for the better.

Well I changed my music tastes in the respect that I found a new genre of music I liked, but I still like the stuff that I liked before I heard Green Day. So it hasn't changed my musical taste so much as broadened it.

It didn't change my taste that much, I was listening to bands like White Stripes nad a lot of rock before, but Green Day definatly opened the door the punk rock for me. If I hadn't started listening Green Day, I would never even think about listening to The Clash, MCR, The Ramones etc. So thank you Green Day :D

I don't think so, well I guess a little. Before GD I was a huge 3 Doors Down fan, and they're kinda a lighter rock band. I also listened to stupid pop on the radio but I didn't like it much. GD introduced me to REAL rock.

Completely. Years ago,in the mid 80s, I loved the Dead Kennedys because my then bf was into them, but I just didn't see myself as liking punk rock. I t just seemed out of character. I would have been embarrassed to tell anyone I liked them, like they would have thought I was trying to be cool or sth.

So I forgot about punk rock, but most of what was on the radio bored me to tears, except Nirvana. When Kurt Cobain died I was devasted, swore I would never take a band I loved for granted.

First time I heard Green Day I fell completely in love. Then reading about them I found out about the whole scene that had spawned them and I fell in love with punk rock. Now it's pretty much all I listen to.

dead kennedys are one of the best punk bands ever!!!

and before punk, i listened to micheal jackson, still do but not as much, hes like pops musics punk rocker

Yeah they did, kind of.

I was merging away from my rap and pop/radio stage awhile ago listening more to pop-punk/emo, but Green Day introduced me to actual punk music.

I started listening to Green Day last July. Its when my best friend and I started really getting into them. I don't know if listening to them led me to listening to other music, but it gave me a whole new look into music. I've always been a fan of music, listening to Green Day just really showed me what music is all about. It inspired me. I mostly get my taste of music from my dad. He has a CD collection to die for. Its mostly rock. My dad is really the one that got me into music. Green Day just changed things a little for me.
