Acadia
Before I heard Green Day i used to listen to country. Thats just what my parents and older brother liked so I just picked it up. The first time I heard Green Day I thought they kinda sucked. After a few times of hearing it I started to like it and started to get more into their stuff. Now aside from Green Day I listen to more alternative indie kind of stuff and some pop-punk stuff, but not much. I also like older stuff like CCR and The Beatles. So did listening to Green Day change the music you listened to as a whole? Or were you already into that kind of music when you found out about them? totally. i was the same: country music. my mom didn't want me to listen to green day because she thought that they were antiamerican because of the heart-grenede, and now, she likes them to, O_o. go figure. but when i first saw them (holiday video) i loved them. i didn't tell anyone that i liked them, and i thought that bj was hott and so was tre (mike, he's so-so), when my bro and i went to tower records, i bought it and have been a fan since. Look-alive
Yeah i've been into green day since I was younger but ever since those days I've always been interested in rock and punk. So maybe they made my musical taste how it is today.

Pepsi and Coke
Defenately... I used to ove like all the pop kinda music, Lindsay lohan, black eyed peas... u know that stuff. Now all my friends see me as the punk/rock one out of them all. My music taste and dress style and all that stuff has defenately gotten a bit more rock-ish. They always go to me for their punk rock-ish questions.

Samantha
Totally.... I mean they were the first real band that I listened to. All the other stuff I listened to was what I like to call 'trendwhore music'. After my uncle gave me dookie I started to expand on other punk-rock stuff like Blink 182, Sum 41, and some Alternative like Foo Fighters. But I had been listening to the classics all my life. Dexy's midnight runner
I don't know if Green day completely changed my musical taste, but it definitely helped form it. Before I was about 13, I never really listened to popular music. I just listened to what my parents listened to... luckily for me that was Elvis Costello, The Beatles and David Bowie. Then I think I bought Blink's Enema of the State, and it just went from there. I got Dookie like a week later and my love of punk/pop-punk just carried on going. NC_Idiot
They completely changed my musical taste. Before I heard them i mostly listened to hip hop. Then, i found out i was moving, so i threw myself into rock music and came upon Green Day. I have to admit when i first bought the album (American Idiot) and listened through it i didnt like it that much, but after a while i started to LOVE it, and now i am obsessed. I also realized that most hip hop sucks, and there is no meaning in what the songs are about, and rock music has meaning in the songs. So yes, Green Day changed my musical taste. **nobodylikesyou**
The answer would be yes. I always have listened to all kinds of rock music, but I have found much meaning that I can relate to in all of Green Days songs.
rockerbabe443
I think Green Day definately changed my music taste. I listened to rap and pop and was a total prep. It's funny, though, I saw my old friends the other day that I hadn't seen in a couple of months and they're like "woah, what the fuck happened to you, you're not a prep anymore." So I guess green day also changed my personality.
