Jamie311
Nope...no change. And infact, Green Day is the only "punk" band I listen to. I listen to everything from the beatles to A perfect Circle...Dixie Chicks and Alison Krause (the only country I like) to Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Reel Big fish... I would stay my taste has always been very diverse and I like it that way!!

basketcase72492
definetly, the first time i heard green day, it was on tv, and i just really fell in love with their music, and than i started watching more shows they were on, and in one of them it said they like the clash, so i tried the clash out, and really really loved them, and than i started liking sex pistols, and so on, i just got more into punk rock, thanks to them. dirnt286
Yup, hey sure did. Six years ago, I had no idea what punk music was. Then I heard Green day, and it was just so much better than everything else I had ever heard. Louder, faster, more energy, etc. Ofcourse during the past few years, ive discovered ACTUAL punk rock, but Green day definately lead me in that direction for sure. St. Jimmy 420
Green Day def. changed my musical taste. Before them i listened to like, country and just crap music. But ever since i started really loving them, i listened to Simple Plan, Blink 182, Fall Out, etc.. and now i usually only listen to punk/rock and stuff like that. it's pretty sweeet. Under_Fire
Actually, the come to think of it, they did. I always listened to mainstream shit until I found the rock station. Goddamn, interesting how I never thought of that before....
she screams in silence.
Yeah, before I started liking Green Day, I pretty much just listened to mainstream pop . Green Day helped me discover punk, like The Ramones.

GREEN_DAY_TTM!!
Well, I have actually never thought about how Green Day changed my musical taste, like I cant believe it, but before i started been a green day obsessive, I like all this shit like Kelly Clarkson, U2, Jet, u know all that and like I went through stages of The Veronicas, Ricki Lee and OMG now those ppl r like my enemies! So yes, Green Day really did change my musical taste, I mean from like quiet like pop to lik e rock I call that a change. And thats one of the reasons I love Green Day so much, I was brainwashed by those stupid ppl, but Green Day got me out of it and I love them now! lol! Blu
Yes and no. I liked pop-punk before I had ever heard of Green Day and I still listen to it. The main thing about my music taste that Green Day has changed would be the fact that I now listen to a lot more harder rock and stuff that has more metal in it at times. Basically, it's made me broaden my musical taste more.
kinda0punk
Most definately. Without Green Day, I wouldn't care nearly as much about music in general as I do. It kind of saved me as far as that goes. I wouldn't have as varied a taste in music as I would either. Hell, I probably wouldn't even give a shit, wouldn't care enough to even want a mp3 player. GDHOODIEPWNS
Before I heard Green Day i used to listen to country. Thats just what my parents and older brother liked so I just picked it up. The first time I heard Green Day I thought they kinda sucked. After a few times of hearing it I started to like it and started to get more into their stuff. Now aside from Green Day I listen to more alternative indie kind of stuff and some pop-punk stuff, but not much. I also like older stuff like CCR and The Beatles. So did listening to Green Day change the music you listened to as a whole? Or were you already into that kind of music when you found out about them? Halfway. I used to listen to country, too, I loved almost all of it, knew most of the lyrics, could recognize any osng the instant it was on, etc. Then I heard GD, and it's been so long I've heard country I don't know half the new songs anymore. ^_^;;; However, I don't like the other music of that type, only Green Day. (I swear I nearly got disowned for saying Green Day is better than Toby Keith lol)
BJluva72
Before I came obsessed! I used to listen to Pop, hip hop and rap! But now I only listen to rock! and thats my fault cuz i in the beginning i didnt give rock a chance in my life but when i heard Holiday,Wake me up when september ends and Boulevard of broken dreams and american idiot i was swept away! then i bought all their cds! Holy crud every night i go in my room and listen to them! Billie Joe Armstrong
Bullet_in_my_Bible
Yeh before I heard Green Day I liked Eminem and just rap in general. But listening to Green Day really showed me what kind of a mediocre genre Rap/HipHop is. But unfortunately i must admit I only started liking Green Day during American Idiot. But at least i dared to venture out to the older stuff unlike many newer fans. Listening to Green Day made me more aware of bands like The Ramones, The Clash, Sex Pistols and so on. Sure I still like Eminem but not as much anymore. And I don't like many of his songs anymore. I respect him but I've lost all genuine interest. thats basically the same for me too. once I heard american idiot it changed my whole music taste.
