Not very much, I was raised with rock/punk music and was always into it. I was always o Green Day are cool, but I'm not that into them. Now its diffrent, than I wanted like alll the Good Charlotte Cds (I call my GC phase the lost days :) ) Now, my goal this year is to get all of Green Day cds.

They have changed my musical taste immensely. They introduced me to almost all the bands I listen to now. I was into all that pop music before. I loved anything on those Now cd's. The only actual bands I listened to before Green Day was Linkin Park and my parents classic rock stuff, but I've even strayed away from that. Hell, before Green Day I thought Avril Lavigne was punk, now I want to puke at the thought of that. Anyway, Green Day has basically saved me from crappy music.

Like alot of people here yes, they did. They introduced me to other great punk bands, and I'll always be thankful for that.

They completely changed my musical taste as well as my persona. They brought out what I never new I had before. Listening to Green Day has made me an individuall even for the good and well, sometimes the bad, and yes I fell like I owe them my life at times.

I dont think any band has changed my musical taste. But rather got me listening to new music.

it's like this....

Green Day started me listening to more rock, but didn't suddenly change my opinion of what I listened to before

Then I discovered bright eyes and I got into more indie rock...but my opinion of green day stayed the same.

Like I said, nothing changed my tastes, just added music to the pile so to say.

No, not really. When I first got into Green Day, I already liked country, pop, rock, punk, and rap. My music tastes were pretty broad for an 8 year old, so they didn't really change it; just added to it.

Hmmm... I still like alot of different types of music, depending on my mood. I'm not stucked to a fixed type.

But I do have favourites. Before I got into Green Day - now my favourite band - I really liked indie, stuff like the Kaiser Chiefs.

Now I love punk rock.

I think that'll stay for life. I've found my musical home, thanks to Green Day!

Green Day didn't change my musical taste because there was no musical taste to change. before i got into them i didnt like any bands, didn't like anyone! everyone else had music they liked, people thought it was strange that i didn't like any music but i just hadn't heard anything i liked yet. but when i listened to Green Day i was like WOAH i like this, i actually like this. for the first time i was hearing music i actually wanted to listen too. now i have all their albums and many others. i owe alot to them, they helped me discover what music i liked. and music is so great, without them i probably would have continued a musicless life, which i couldnt do now.

Yes. Before i started listening to Green Day i wasn't really into music at all. I'd very rarely buy CD's and didn't have favourite bands/songs. Then i started to listen to Green Day and i reallt got into music. I started 'experimenting' with different styles of music, and know i enjoy a wide range of artists. All thanks to Green Day.

When I discovered Green Day I was kinda wandering in an unknown zone. I had listened to pop and r'n'b music but hadn't really found my place in those genres. So at the time I was still looking for music to lose myself in...and then I found Green Day...and the rest is history!

Yeah. Like most people have said...my music taste was a bit undefined before them. I listened to some alternative and stuff, but I wasn't into music nearly as much as I am now.

My friend listened to punk rock about two years ago. I was like dude this sucks. he was always listening o simple plan, yellowcard, green day, good charolete, and blink 182. i started listening to some green day and i was like this is cool. when i was little i can remeber hearing when i come around and good riddance on the radio and when i gpt international supehits from my friend i was like i remeber those songs. then i was a punk fan.

Well, when I first even started liking music I was completely into pop music (backstreet boys, spice girls, britney spears, etc.), then, when I was 13 I started getting into more rock/alternative music (evanescence, good charlotte, simple plan, mcr, etc.), but it wasn't until I started really liking Green Day that I actually started to care about bands that weren't really "mainstream". I've now come to realize there's much better music out there than what you hear on MTV, and I thank Green Day for that

Finding Green Day radically changed every aspect of my life - except my musical taste, punk was always the music that did it for me, although I have a really broad taste in music and I would take on board anything that appeals to me, apart from r and b, and the majority of rap.

I love AI with a passion, and the part that makes me happiest is where St. Jimmy swaggers on in an adrenaline rush of buzzy, punked-up guitar.

Their music did, and I'm glad it did. Now when I'm listening to music and it's not Green Day I'm like wow this song sucks. Listening to GD makes me really like music, I mean before I wasn't as into it, but now that I realized what a great band they are I am more into music and it makes me want to learn to play other instruments and try new things. Now whenever I listen to other bands that I used to listen to (I used to listen to anything that was just catchy) I'm like wow they suck. I think that their music changed me for the better though, I have something to look forward to everyday after school and it's fun to see them on tv and stuff and learn more about them. I think their music is like none other out there and I think that everyone should listen to them - but then again sometimes we can't help but wish we were their only fan if you get what I'm saying. Anyways - They rock, and will forever - that's my stand.

nope. the only thing i still listen to that sounds remotely like them is blink.

i'm more of a modern rock / 90's alt rock type.

not like pseudo punk rock.

Easily. I was into pop before Green Day. Although I didnt really have a favourite Artist. Then Green Day came along and my passion for Punk Rock grew, and soon I was a huge fan.

Totally! I use to listen to "bubble gum pop" and when I heard a few Greenday songs on the radio, I totally fell in love with their use of fowl language and the beats of their songs.

Actually, they kinda did. Before I like them, I was into more poppy kinda stuff. I've always liked their older stuff on the radio, but I never bought a Green Day CD. I got American Idiot for Christmas last year, and I thought it kinda sucked at first. Then I listened to it more and liked it more. I have all of their CDs except Kerplunk (I can't find it anywhere!) Haha, I'm obsessed. Now I'm more into punk-rock. And I owe it to Green Day lol :)

Also, because of them, I find songs with a lot of swearing and foul language better. I remember when I got International Superhits and I was shocked to find out they said masturbation in Longview. Now, that kinda stuff doesn't even phase me. :P

Well Mum used to listen to pop music when I was little which was when I got started on Green Day. Then we started listening to older stuff like The Beatles and the Sex Pistols and sometimes Pink Floyd or The Clash. When I was around middle-schoolish age I was always afraid to talk about that kind of music because it wasn't what was "in" and nobody knew what the hell it was anyway. And then band shirts start being really big and suddenly everyone started wearing old band shirts and I'm just like...wait...when did this happen?

Actually Green Day basically changed my whole life really!

At first I liked Rap and all that stuff, and hung out with the "popular crowd" like the sluts and whore...you know the dealy-o right? Well at first I got aggravated with American Idiot the video, it was overplayed, but then I listened to it, I'm like whoa...then BOBD came along.. and I met a new friend that was in my gym class who also liked that song and we became pretty good friends!

I was still hanging out with the same people (unfortunantly) and I hated it terribly one day so much, because they were full of so much friggan stupid drama! SO i left to sit with a few girls in my class that i had become friends with! Then it came a constant habit to sit with them!

So that girl i was talking about that was in my gym class (hannah) well we always talked about Green Day, so one night she called is all like " Green Day is having a show at the Verizon!!!" So we got tickets and had to wait till the super fun night! And during then, we became best friends! She introduced me to sooo many good bands! We went to the show and had an absouloute amazing time! And since then we have been BEST FRIENDS, and all her friends are my friends and I ditched my old friends!

So to answer the question yes they did change my musical taste!

Who actually read that whole thing?
