Fantasy
They did change my music taste. I used to listen to everything that just came on tv. When I discovered Green Day, I started listening to other bands aswell. It was just this whole new kind of music that I had ever heard of. I like almost every kind of music now(rap, hiphop and r&b excluded), though I still have a preference for bands like Green Day and indie bands. *withoutadoubt*
I've always liked different types of music. My cd collection goes from Madonna to Shania Twain to The Beatles to Van Halen. After listening to Green Day, though, it made me appreciate music on a different level, and it opened up a whole new area of interest for me. Now I hardly listen to anything else. agirlcalledkill
actually i hadn't thought about it, but kinda. They were definitely a gateway into stuff i wouldn't have listened to a few years ago.
belficat
Definatley changed mine. Before I listened to all the popular crap out there, my tv was stuck on the music channel smash hits. I didn't really appreciate quality music, but just a fun tune that was out and popular at the time. But then a friend recommended BOBD to me. I listened, and was not impressed. I carried on with my pop crap, getting more into rnb and rap. Then one day, in a random spurt of boredom, I decided to listen to Green Day again. I heard BOBD again, and thought it was good! I relistened to Minority (which my friend had also once recommended) and I could finally appreciate the meaning behind it. The more I listened, the more I loved it, and slowly I began to listen to other music in the same genre, and research more about the music I was listeneing to. That was about 7 months ago, and look at me now! I love Green Day and I am a huge fan , nd I have gone from liking the likes of Christina Aguilera and Beyonce to being huge fans of bands such as Green Day, Oasis, Evanescence, Nirvana, Linkin Park, Guns n' Roses etc. They've definatley changed my music taste - and for the better, and I am really thankful of that. alexeinwonderland
I was really into country because that what everyone I was friends with listened to. Then I started listening to some Billy Talent and MCR and then I kind of got into rap because its what my boyfriend listened to and then I heard American Idiot and started liking Green Day, but I still listened to rap and country. It wasn't until I went to there concert and heard Minority, King for a Day, Longview, and a few other old ones that I fell absolutly in love with them and started getting into the music I listen to now. CaesarSalad
Thank you Green Day for showing me the light. Before I was a mainstream-pop station-hip hop loving-whore, even though I hated hip hop. I just didn't know where to find better. But I found it. And now I am grateful for that. Iselilja
Sure, I would more say I didn't listen to music before them, it were The Beatles, I always had them, but they were kinda the only band I listened to before Green Day, so you could say they introduced me to being intrested in music. .:Mischievous Creature:.
I didn't have a musical taste before green day. I listen to everything my best friend kind of "forced" me to listen. (She listens to latin stuff mostly, I'm glad she hates greek music like I do) But then I discovered green day and everything changed....(for the best of course)
dookiehead
My brother got me into rock in general before, but I was into Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Rammstein and Slipknot at first. I got Kerrang! TV, which was the first place I heard Green Day, along with other bands like NoFX, Bad Religion, Sum 41 and Blink-182. I got ISH from Green Day, TOYPAJ from Blink and a bunch of singles from Sum 41, which was the first time I considered myself a punk fan. Since then my tastes have changed a load, and I still listen to all of the bands I mentioned before, as well as more underground stuff, and all the middle-of-the-road rock and indie. Green Day didn't change my taste, but I'll never really know for sure. I believe I'd be into this anyway, but I might not have been... I can't think of a link that actually proves that If i didn't discover Green Day, I wouldn't have discovered every other band, but I sorta think so anyway.
