jimmydiedtodayandsodidi
well, unforunetly Avril Lavinge got me into rock. but now she's a preppy little bitch. (sorry, had to get that off my mind). then Bridgey introduced me to Green Day and it was seriously love at first hear. heh. but i remember seeing My Chemical Romance when they wore this pink makeup that made them look like the had eye diesaeses, but secretly, i kind of liked them, so maybe Avril didnt change my taste. i dunno really. Evil-Sheep
Yeah, before I liked the Beatles and stuff, and I didn't like the crap that other people listened to, then when I heard Green Day I instantly loved it. The first song I heard was Basket Case because my dad had it on a mix tape and I kept listening to it over and over again. When I found out it was by Green Day, I started buying some of their albums and from then on I've been hooked!
Melly.
Yeah, now i rarely listen to punk music at all.
Angel Andres
Yes, before Green Day I listened to rock and pop. I didn't really care about music though but when I heard Green Day I got really into it and now I can't live without music anymore. I also started to listen to simple plan , panda, and the all amrican rejects and green day was a real big change for me.
Guest 16PaperLanterns
i used to LOVE the backstreet boys (their tape was the only one i owned, besides and A*TEENS cd). and A*Teens, and Britney and Dream Street and all that pop crap.... but actually, my favorite song when i was 10 or 11 was Dont Wanna Fall In Love, i just never knew who it was by. actually, come to think of it, if i were exposed to more than Radio Disney when i was younger i would have loved punk. i got into green day about two years ago, gotten all their music, realized they wrote the song i used to adore, and it really had an effect on what i listen to. now i mainly listen to pop-punk, punk and rock. I also listen to Broadway, which has a wide range of musical styles. Really the only pop i listen to is the beatles.
spontaneous_combustion
yeah! before i heard them i listened to alittle pop. i never really liked any bands, i just would have the radio on sometimes and i didn't have any favorites. then one day green day came on, i fell in love, and everything changed. Rag
Green Day alone didn't change my taste in music, but when I started to get into them, it was the start of a whole change for me. I listen to stuff I never would have thought I would a few years ago.

kimmy
actually, i don't like a lot of stuff that sounds like green day. i'm into hard rock and metal more than anything else, but there's something about green day that has me hooked. it might be their energy. Cages Of Whispers
Yeah, they made me listen to more rock in general, and punkBefore Green Day, I was more into the mainstream music like pop and rap because that's the main thing, I never knew about punk or rock bands. Until I bought their album. And I did that out of nowhere, I listened to the one at the store, and what the hell, I bought it. I thought it was okay. But the more I listen to it, the more I loved it. I got more attracted to pop punk music, and real meaningful lyrics, instead of bla bla i love you i love you. Now I listen to a lot of rock, punk, alternative. I'm so glad Green Day stepped into my life.
Freddie Mercury fan
There was a masive change in my music taste. I used to listen to what they showed on MTV, but then one day I saw something that really had an impact on me, to start of I didn't really notise it but then there was something in the song who drawed me to it and then I started to turn the volume button. One day I decided to buy American Idiot and I got hooked. Then I bought Dookie, WArning, Intl Superhits, Bullet In A Bible and Intl Videohits. In between I have found out that I also liked Quen, ACDC, Alice Cooper, Guns N' Roses, Led Zep and Ozzy. Today when I hear people play trechno I think that it's a load of c#¤%. billie7joe
yeah, kinda... the band that first introduced me to punk rock were the ramones which eventually led me to the clash and the sex pistols. and that was about it. but then green day came along, when i was about 15 or 16, and i liked them so much i started looking for other punk rock bands. so yeah, if it hadn't been for green day i would have stuck only to punk rock classics, which i still love! (except for the pistols, i don't really like their music nowadays).
