Did Green Day change your musical taste?

No, they didnt. I've always listened to different kind of music. It just depend on how good is the song i'm listening to, I dont care about the type of music.

I was a complete different person before.

And after listening to GD, I discovered a lot of other bands, that i really like.

Green Day pretty much changed me. My dad is strange so he kinda influenced the crappy taste in music i used to have. I used to listen to like backstreet boys and shania twain. But two years ago I heard green day on the radio and loved them. A few months later I dropped my preppy life style to become who I am now. My mom really hates it but i don't really care, so...we're even! :)

i love the backstreet boys!

so, basically, most of you people completely changed your personalities, all because of some band. interesting.

ahhh... i guess i could never really care what people thought much, because if i was so "weird" sometimes, i'd be constantly upset about people making fun of me

I was four when I first heard Basketcase, so, in a way, Green Day were the first band I liked. There was a period when my friends taste in music influenced mine way too much, I was listening to HipHipand R&B ect. That all changed when Nimrod came out and I was once again hooked on Green Day. Then, after realising I enjoyed Green Day's type of music, I was introduced to other "punk" and Rock bands. However, if I like a song, I like a song, no matter what genere it is.

When I was young I listened to the Damned, Placebo, The Cure and Garbage, because that's what my parents listened to (My friends all thought I was wierd...) and I forgot about them for a while before listening to Green Day, so Green Day reintroduced me to bands and introduced me to new awesome stuff!

Not really. Around the time I really started listening to them, I was already listening to other rock bands. Green Day did introduce me to more rock bands, but my taste in music didn't change.

absolutely the same there. if i cared about others opinions i will be surwe now that i am freak or alien or something

and green day did not change my personality. At all.

The music taste yes. Because of them i discovered the clash and sex pistols (lol, if you think that they are not accociated at all with green day ).

But personality nope.

Before I "discovered" Green Day for real last summer I only listened to soundtracks from movies, pop/rock, disgusting dance and electronic (like Jean Michel Jarre).

When I then bought American Idiot I found out that my dad had Dookie in his enormous collection of cds. After that I started to collect Green Day's albums that came before AI. After a lot of hard work I finally completed my collection of Green Day albums when I added 1039/SOSH and Shenanigans.

After that I started to listen to hard rock, old rock, rock/electronica (Spleen United), alternative rock, acid rock, early metal, new metal, heavy metal (even though I can't stand growling) and now Love Metal.

About 2 months ago I discovered HIM and I just fell in love with their music and sound (and Ville Valo, but that's another story). Now, I'm collecting their music. The first cd I bought with HIM was the Limited Internet Editon of Dark Light (the very special one in a tin cover, with the big booklet, a certificate of authenticity - I have number 13.286 of 20.000 - with autographs, that key chain flash light which lights the heartagram and a cd with two extra tracks instead of one) and then I bought And Love Said No.

And when I was at the Roskilde Festival 2006 I bought Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666 and Razorblade Romance in Roskilde City for 50 danish kroner each. That's about 8.57$.

To put things short: Green Day made me explore rock, metal and heavy genres. And I'm grateful.

I dont think it was Green Day, more just me learning what good music was actually out there and Green Day was something that just came along with that.

mmm...i dunno they made me explore more bands in their genre but in all honesty i just have a general rock taste in music - i'm not a major punk, metal, indie, emo fan etc - i just like a few bands from each genre but in general i like softer rock e.g Foo's, Green Day, RHCP, GnR, Feeder, Offspring etc etc. I suppose Green Day got me in2 sum 41 and the offspring lol but they didnt dramatically change it in all honesty.

They didn't change my musical taste, but they expanded it. I got into other bands and such, and I began picking up on the older bands. But I didn't stop liking the stuff I used to like before Green Day...
