Punk Butterfly
because of GD i started to listen to The Clash, Sex Pistols, Siouxie and the Banshees and then NoFX, Rancid, Anti-flag etc. Before i listened to shitty pop. Ugh. It is ironic, although GD are not punk, they got me into all this punk thing.

my_love_to_st_jimmy
Before Green Day I didn't listen (just wrote) music 'coz I hate Croatia's music scene. Few good bands even today, in independant Croatia. I listened some rock bands called Hladno Pivo (it means Cold Beer) and Psihomodo Pop. I listen to them just as my father. And with 8 I "got infected" with a virus called Green Day. You know, there still ain't cure for it. THANK GOD. haha. And yeah, they changed my taste 'coz now I like to listen and punk bands as well. But only if they're good. Millencolin or Pennywise aren't good if ya ask me.
nimrod-41
It was Sum 41 who made a huge impact on me, before them I listened to whatever my parents did. then I started to listen to other pop punk rock songs and came across Green Day. so i was already listening to this type of music but Green Day were the iceing on the cake! beth hardy
not really....i grew up listening to rock...so when i heard GD everything blended in.....but i have a new respect for punk bands.....and rock for a matter of fact....GD turned rock into something totally different..like making a new genera(sp) of their own music. but i mean their still punks and all...they just swaved of to the side a little..if any of that made sense... She-Loves-Him
thank the lord they did. i was so unbelieveably musically confused. my ipod had like queen, meatloaf, pussycat dolls, gwen stefani, kanye west....it was terrible. though i do really like queen and meatloaf, but PCD? hell no. now it feels like i've finally found the kinda music i like and was meant to listen to... Michelle7107
Yes, they did! Honestly, before Green Day I hardly even listened to music. I'd just turn on the radio and not know who the hell was singing so I'd turn it off. Green Day also helped me discover other bands like All American Rejects, AFI, etc.
