randomness
and some of us actually have been fans longer than most of those slagging the place off.so how long you've been a fan decides how good your forum is? wasn't aware of that
Fuzz
I`d be interested to know if Andres still feels the same about the forums. in celebration of this thread being just over a year old. Not really. I've changed A LOT in a year. I feel bad for talking so much shit about it. Still not my favorite place, but to each his own. Obviously it works for some people, then so be it. All the posts I've ever seen about GDA have all been good, so i shouldn't be such a dick about the place. I let my account expire back in November, but i plan on getting it back for the videos and stuff. my username is scatteredbomb.
netty
thats good to know. there are good things and bad things about all forums. I basically read a few and post in threads that interest me. if there are threads that dont, I ignore them. and randomness, I wasnt saying that there being some long term fans on there made it a better forum, I was simply pointing out that not every member on there is a teenie. there same as there are older fans on here, there are on there. the same goes for teenies, idiots and down right bastards. there are as many people on the idiot club that bug the hell out of me as there are on here. but thats basically like society. even when you share a common interest, doesnt mean you are going to get on with evrey single person. farley drexel hatcher
Every board has it's fairshare of 'teenies' and whatever, although i actually think that the 'teenie' everyone thinks exists, doesn't anymore. Not really with Green Day anyway. Most of them have moved on. Does anyone know how much is costs to join if you're from England? After card charges and whatnot? netty
probably just over £10 with the current exchange rate. with my credit card, as I usually pay it off before charges start, I think I paid just over £11 but that was a while back. £10.20 according to a currency convertor. farley drexel hatcher
Thanks I don't think i'd pay 20 pounds to join but 10 isn't really much, not for a whole year.
mallorymaloney
I'm a member of the Idiot Club 'o course, but I never really posted in the forum, because it's all misaligned on my 800 x 600 resolution --- You have to scroll to the side for fifty years to see the posts/threads/etcetera.-_-The people seemed fine to me, but the layout bugged me, so I don't bother with it. I only joined to see the videos, anyway. xD

zoki
Wow When I first heard of the club I was gonna join but when I saw I had to pay money I was like wtf why should I have to pay to be a fan. You don't pay money to be a fan.You pay money for the special privileges that are given to you by the organizers/maintainers of the fan club. Who need to get paid for their labour. sydneygirl
I'm a member of the Idiot Club and I think it is fine. Yeah, you get the whinging pain in the ass people, but where in life don't you? There are a lot of cool people in the Idiot Club, too. Although GDC is my absolute favourite, I also go on the Idiot Club and check out what's happening. I have kept my membership up and will continue to do so. It's really not that much money when you break it down over 12 months ($20 US = $26 AU). It's like $2.15 approx. a month. You'd spend much more than that on a meal at McDonalds.Like Netty, I pick and choose what threads to read or contribute to - same as here. I'm one of the older fans and I don't really notice that many teenies at the Idiot Club - no more than here or any other Green Day site. They're cool enough, just like us here. Michelle7107
^ Well my favorite part are the Q&A's and random videos that they sometimes put up. I think those alone are worth the twenty bucks.

Guest 16PaperLanterns
I have to say that $20 a year is much cheaper than what some band sites cost--$20 a MONTH.
sampalletband
You know that I am a part of The Over 30's Thread at the IC. So please do not call all of IC teenies Though I am frustrated with the lack of band Q&As my money was well spent because I met an amazing number of women who I have not only hung out in person with but talk to every single day and call my best friends. That was more then worth the price of admission for me. [sidenote]I have lurked here for a many many months but only recently posting here and there but I was told to go back to moderate my 'own' forum. It was said in a teasing way but the message was loud and clear. Just because I am a mod for GSB means I'm not good enough to be here. Why? You know I find it's interesting that each forum is so territorial. Like it's the IC vs GDC vs GSB... No offense but aren't we all GD fans? Why should it matter where we choose to spend the majority of our GD time at. [/sidenote]
asknomore
I don't know about the Idiot Club, but I love GDA and this Forum.I'm actually becoming a bit addicted *awesome*There are sometimes really random things to talk about, but then again, aren't we all random?See that was just random. *goes off banging her head against the wall because she's being random*
Johnny Park
I'm signed up on the Idiot Forum. I registered a few days after the idiot club was debuted, I took a look at the forum & said goodbye to it pretty quickly. It's filled with squirelly voiced kids who post stuff thats not worth reading.
TotalBasketCase13
I joined the Idiot Club in December. The forum isn't really that bad. People are actually pretty nice there. I mostly joined for the Q&A's and all the other extras though. GDC is where I go to get my GD forum fix
feelingsquoshy
I disliked Idiot Club's concept of "paying for perks" right from the beginning. It's like a brother/sisterhood. I think it's bitchy of Green Day. Don't get me wrong, I love my boys, but to me Idiot Club is just what the name says it is; A Club of and for Idiots.I would love to see fun little videos and see the Q&A and stuff, but I don't wanna pay for it.It's like GD are prostituting...and not in the way I would like them to prostitute

Johnny Park
yeah, I kinda hate the fact that I paid $20 per year (I've been there for two years) so that I could see "exclusive" video, when the whole time I could have just gone on youtube a watched it for FREEfor instance..here's an "exclusive vid" that you can only see on the idiot club...yet here it is posted for youhttp://youtube.com/watch?v=gnbdFFwFYik
