This is my main problem. I don't have anyone except for my brother, who just goes because my mum makes him; apparently, I need my 33-year-old brother to "protect me" from big, scary Green Day concerts. Sounds a bit silly maybe, but it's just kind of a personal thing to me, and none of my friends (as in, personal life friends, people on here probably do ) really know how much I love them. Of course when someone brings it up I won't be all silent, but it isn't something I'll bring up. And it's not like I don't already talk a crapload about Green Day already on here xD This. They don't mind when I talk about Green Day with them but once I start to deepen the conversation they start to get well... freaked out? Like I can't even mention too much about stuff like the AI Musical and they'll think I'm weird for knowing so much about them. And if I just say something like "Oh he looks good in that pic." they start to think I'm madly in love with all of them. As you said, they just don't know how much they mean to me so it feels always kinda akward to talk about GD with them, so I do it here on GDC. Wow... I sound so whiny. I only have to be listening to Green Day on my iPod and they'll start talking shit about them being, "pussy music" or "not being hardcore enough". I don't bother talking about them with my friends because I know I'll just end up being pissed off by the end of it. I mean, I have two friends who like Green Day but they only very recently "converted" so there isn't much to talk about. If the subject of Green Day does ever come up between the three of us, our other friends always make they need to let us know how much they hate the band. Banan Posted April 12, 2010 Share Posted April 12, 2010 My best friend is a huge Green Day-fan too, and she know about their old stuff, how they began at Gilman Street and stuff, so i always have someone to talk about Green Day with we're actually going to the concert together in June! And recently another good friend of mine has gotten really into Green Day as well, which is great, i also made sure that her very first Green Day albums were Nimrod and Kerplunk! So i talk about Green Day a lot with her too. Aoife is really the only one who likes Green Day but she hardly ever listens to them. Katie used to be totally obsessed with them, that's how we became friends. But she has changed so much over the last 2 years and now she doesn't really like them anymore and would opt for Lady Gaga far quicker. It's a real shame. I really miss not having anyone to talk about Green Day with. I know friends can have plenty of other common interests, but music is my biggest interest and it's hard to find other things to talk about sometimes. I just keep talking and talking about how amazing they are and just random things about them. I dont know if its cos they dont like the music =\ They were even hesitant about me going to see them at Sheffield with a mate and knowing that I Came home in one piece should at least made them realise im going to be ok at Manchester Cricket Ground =| You'd think because im an adult they'd let me go with no problems but no.... Well, when I talk to them about GD, they listen, but I can tell that they kinda get annoyed. Like, they have that 'omfg, stfu!' face, y'know? We talk about them constantly She undertand me,when I see something pertinent to GD (for example page number "80" in some book or something like that) But other friends think that we are obsessed and really mad...
